Chuck was at the peak of the MMA world. The most recognized figure in the sport and hadn’t lost since 2003 (7 fights, all ending in KO or TKO). He was favoured to win the fight (by way of betting odds). Chuck ends up getting caught in the fight and now all of a sudden he never had a chance in the first place? Yea, he kind of became a one dimensional fighter, but I still think he posses the tools to beat Jackson, I think he just needs to train better and come in with a better plan.
I think part of Chuck’s demise was due to the media spotlight. All of a sudden people want him for interviews, TV appearances, Magazine cover shoots, etc. I think he was distracted by all of this and lost focus and as a result paid for it in the ring. He never looked in great shape coming into that fight. | Hey look at this, me and Happy here agree! Good post. I'll rep you when i can. |

Chuck had a chance and still does. I think he may have underestimated jackson yet AGAIN. I know I did (yet again). I mean chuck had been on fire and jackson had been very lackluster, chuck may have assumed it would be a walk in the park. Most of the evidence said it should have been. But just like thier first match jackson sees red tunnel vision when he fights chuck. Chuck seems to be the one who brings all the fire out of jackson, mabey partially due to jacksons friendship with toto, and chuck should have been ready for every move in jacksons book. Jackson really didn't do anything new to beat chuck the second time that we havent seen him do before, and the footage is widely available on tape for study. The only suprise was that he was in top form, but chuck should have been prepared for that at the very least. Sometimes I suspect hacklemans gym is not the smartest or most strategic training gym since they havent produced any other champs and only a few other decent fighters. Chucks success out of that gym could easily attributable to chucks own natural talents.
I hope Chuck and hackleman have finally figured out that Jackson has chuck figured out, and hopefully they spend some effort or get some help reinventing and adjusting his game beyond "I train the same for everybody" if he ever hopes to conquer this particular hurdle.

How can you ask if Chuck even stood a chance??? Of course he did, Chuck is a precision striker with knockout power in both fists, he's got unreal takedown D, and if he used his kicks more often, great range striking as well... Common people this is Chuck, he's been on the top of the game for a long time and as soon as Rampage loses his title i'm sure Dana will have Chuck standing there in line for a shot at the new champ.
AND after all those "no he didn't stand a chance" posts all I have to say is
WAR CHUCK!

obviously chuck had a chance... he had a good chance too... if one shot connected rihgt.. rampage may have gone to sleep. Rampage had all the tools to beat chuck and won but to say chuck had no chance? he's not a b-level fighter u know.
I honestly agree though that chuck is a lil predictable and really needs to add more tools in his game. Look at all the one-dimensional guys who are going down slowly... tito.. cro cop...hughes...(well we'll see more after his fight with serra)
