no he had hand controll before he went to his corner the only thing he corner did was allow them to tell him what diego was doing behind him. as long as he had one hand he was never in trouble and diego never did anything to allow him to get controll of both his hands to choke allesio. the corner didnt do that much it was just a good insurance policy.

It was an ok ppv not the best I've seen from the UFC, but I was still dispointed with the way it turned out. I think the Hughes/Gracie fight was fixed. I have several friends that were working backstage at the Staples Center and they heard Dana talking to Gracie about how he wanted to lose the fight and they spotted Gracie and Hughes traning and they were training exactly how the fight turned out. I heard the same thing from 5 friends and they dont know each other. After hearing that I lost respect for UFC

what did you think of the Vera Silva fight Kass?? I personally thought Vera did the right thing.. he got off his ass and stood back up... waited for silva to think i got this guy now.. and then BAM i cant breathe... I was rather impressed he saw Silva had a very strong base and he wasnt going to be able to get the Knock out.

vera has a good ground game and standing it was a stalemate. silva should have known better but i dont think he gave vera enough respect. vera got his head and trapped his other arm so he had no way of defending the choke. that was what caused him to tap. it was a very good showing by vera.

I think it was very smart to trap that arm.. Thats the way to defend that choke is a good way punch to the face and he executed that perfectly.. I dont think Tim Sylvia or AA would like to fight brandon vera in about 2 or 3 more fights.

I still don't see how anyone thought that Sanchez lost that fight. Alessio barely showed any offense. Sure he stuck a few jabs in here and there but it was never enough to win any round in my opinion. Diego pressed the action the entire fight. He was throwing some good punches as well, nothing that had enough on it to knock someone out but enough to score. Alessio, to his credit, had phenomenal takedown defense, but he followed it up with nothing. He definitely had Diego to a point where he was frustrated and should have capitalized on it. Instead he just sat back and waited for Diego to act.

I honestly saw that fight 30-27. I think that far too many people are used to seeing Diego dominate a fight and because he wasn't as dominant, thought that he lost. If this were anyone else y'all would have picked Sanchez IMO.

But hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Next. Whoever thinks that the Hughes/Gracie fight was rigged should get a life. Why would you have Hughes dominate and have the MAIN EVENT end so early. If I was going to fix this thing, I would have had a late third round ending to this fight after a war. That would be the best thing for the sport. If you have a legend fighting a champion and you make it a war, people would tell everyone they know about it. The sport would finally get some respect from mainstream sports media. If you go to any of the major sports news oulets, there is still no mention of MMA whatsoever. Its sad really especially now with its popularity. Gracie was overwhelmed by Matt. End of story.

Kass- HAHAHAHAHA, that was one of the worst conspiracy posts i've heard ever. Like a fixed fight would be talked about so openly and training in front of people together?! lol

anyways i didn't see anyone else make mention of this but give the ufc some props for showing us all the fights except for 1. that's great because there's been time we were lucky to get 1 extra after the main event.

Yeah I was pleased that they had shown so many fights as well. I am used to only seeing 4-5 fights on a UFC PPV as opposed to 7-8 or more on a Pride show.

I believe I already stated it in a post but yes, seeing all the fights was great. I expected the UFC to try and screw us over on that. (Because of their new deal on the prelims)

EDIT-Well almost all the fights.
