Default If Tank destroys Buentello....

Should he be allowed back in the UFC? I think any vet that has built the sport into what it is I.E. Gracie shamrock,Tank,Frye,Severn should always have a place on a UFC card if they choose.IMO Tank is definetly one dimensional but I think that one dimension is better then Tim Sylvias same dimension...striking.While I agree he will probably be submitted by anyone with above average to excellent sub skills,I think he can bang out the top strikers in the heavyweight division in the UFC.Why not have Tank as a gatekeeper?? Its a win-win if u ask me.

Tank can only fight for like half a round, then he is gassed.

i think the people you mentioned, with the exception of gracie, should work smaller organizations so they can help them and further the sport. if they stay in UFC people are gonna get tired of the big promotion and it'll hurt the sport. also, the only HW i'd like to see him fight in UFC is Mir now that they have the same build

The guy is a professional athlete but he doesn't train. They created Toughman Contests in the 80's for guys like Tank to entertain people. Critics called it human cockfighting, barbaric, etc, and was banned in many states. Then along came the UFC and critics called it human cockfighting, barbaric, etc, but it has grown to what it is today because of regulation, trained referees, and skilled and highly trained athletes. Granted, there are still many states that will not allow full contact MMA events under UFC (or similar) rules, but when was the last time your town had a Toughman contest? It disappeared because of too many critics/politicians who used Toughman video of fat guys who don't train as Exhibit 1 in their mission to have it banned from their town or state. There have been no deaths in any UFC events due in part because real professional athletes TRAIN. MMA critics are always looking for reasons to ban MMA. I don't think we should give them any more by lionizing guys like Tank who don't train properly.

There's a big IF in the title of your thread.I think Buentello will be able to defeat Tank.

I think the UFC should've done HW's for TUF 4 instead of WW's and MW's.They could have gotten some if not most of these fighters-Tank Abbott,Paul Buentello,Wes Sims,Cabbage,Gilbert Aldana,Ricco Rodriguez, among others. They could've even made attempts to get Kerr and Bas since they've come out of retirement. They could also maybe bring back some LHW's that could go up in weight to be on the show. They could've even have Ken Shamrock go up in weight if he was willing.

Wow! how awesome would that be! I couldn't agree with you more about this one. TUF 4 will probably be a good show but I definitely don't see anyone that will come out of the show victorious and be able to win a title shot. A heavyweight show with the names you mentioned would be different. I see several guys in the list that I feel could really make for a good heavyweight title fight in the UFC against Sylvia. At least more so than the MW and WW titles

The UFC needs HW's a lot more than they need WW's and MW's.They could even make attempts to get some famous up and comers like Bart Gunn(I can't spell his real name) and Daniel Puder.Even if the fighters I mentioned aren't the best fighters in the world they're familiar faces that could make the UFC HW division atleast look better.
