The Cro Cop who showed up for Kongo would be murdered by Aleks.

See the thing is this. Aleks is not a Muay Thai kickboxer. He's a good striker but not on the level of K1 strikers by any means. He's just has speed and tons of power.
Kongo, is a pro Muay Thai kickboxer with a better record than CroCop. Maybe due to lack of competition, but we dont know who he's fought and K1 figthers are not the best in the world, it's only 1 org.

If Kongo and Cro Cop traded and Kongo was getting the better of some technical exchanges, I'd be impressed. Pounding Cro Cop in the clinch when he's just standing there doesn't make Kongo a world class striker in my view.

Kongo also broke CroCop's ribs. You seem to elude this fact. Kick in the balls or not, CroCop still would have lost.

I see Kongo's fight with Assuerio, not Cro Cop, as his most impressive display of striking. And he's still been beaten by Gilbert Yvel whose striking is certainly not top notch by K-1 standards.

Nonsense, Yvel wa also a pro Muay thai fighter before his transition. He would do great in K1. Most of his loses came by sub as well.
What you don't get is any fighter who goes from Kickboxing to MMA would rather make it a stand up fight, so the stand up aspect of the fight will more than likely make the difference. Just because Kongo doesn't have as big a name as CroCop doesn't mean he's any less of a striker. And Kongo's losses are far and few between. We all know Kongo hasn't shown any ground game yet, but he's also not a ground fighter. No shame in losing to a ground fighter (Carmelo Marrero) if it's not your game, it also happend to CroCop against Nog (that may be saying something.)
Anyway, Kongo is a great striker and the only way Nog can win is on the ground, but he has to keep Kongo there, and Nog is not known for his wrestling.
