Can there be too much MMA? Not for me, at least not yet. I've been thrilled by the increased interest in MMA, because that equals more for me to watch. When you are watching WEC on HDNET, King of the Cage, Pride, etc you already know these so called "new guys" coming into the UFC. Also living in the middle of Iowa, I can regularly see pretty good local shows (though locally people bitch about those as much as they do the UFC).

I do agree that some fighters fall off the map pretty quickly. I found Ivan Salaverry a good fighter and entertaining.

My biggest bitch is the booing fans. Guys are in the 3rd round and they take a breather for 20 seconds or some good ground work is going on and people are booing. It's one of the things I do like about Pride. Maybe it's because of coming from a background in martial arts where respect for others is stressed. I'm sure having an attention span longer than 20 seconds helps too.

actually people bring that point up about PRIDE all the time. Giving their champs easier fights, and non-title fights that is. That's one of PRIDEs weaknesses.

UFC's biggest problem is the lack of pay the fighters get. The put on some great fights and build anticipation for them quite well. The entertainment is fantastic and is probably helping to give business to mma gyms all over the country. So please, stop hating the UFC. I think it is Pride that is scared to do inter-promotional venues.

Question to all....If you owned a business would you say that your business was not as good as the competition? Hell no, or if you did you'd be out of business. That is why the UFC pimps itself the be the biggest and baddest MMA organization...anything less would be stupid.

You didn't read my full post.I said it angers me when people always talk about the UFC doing it and acting like other orginizations(like pride) don't do it.

One of Crocop's fights ths year was against Minowa, a Pride WW. So that wasn't really that challenging of a fight for him.

I hate how Pride almost never has any title defenses for their titles. Nontitle matches between 2 guys from the same division in a nontournament fight is retarded. What is the point of having champions if their titles are never on the line?

Default UFC problems

One of the main problems in the UFC is not only do they kick out some good fighters when they loose one, two or three good fights(Jason Miller, Robbie Lawler, Ivan Salavery, Phil Baroni) but they say things that are going to happen and they never do. A couple years ago dana said they would be going to Japan-didn't same thing probably with liddel silva- he got the whole mma world hyped and then what he said isnt goin to happen either.

what you guys think

The other problem I have is instant title fights. Babalu should have had at least one tune up in the UFC before the title shot. Yes he has won 10 in a row, but not in the UFC!
your an ass he is the #1 guy in the lhw div.
