My Problem with the UFC they may not have as deep a talent pool as pride does but there big fighters just dont fight enough. Pride tends to have big name fights in like 75% of there fights on PPV but UFC banks there shows on 1 fight and if were lucky they throw in a second main event that isnt all that great. Pride fills there cards out with top fighters and good fights. UFC needs to start dfoing this because with pride coming into the states and based on what there Real Deal card is looking like pack with great fighters Pride will start to take away the UFC fanbase |
Actually the biggest problem I have with the UFC is that they panda too much to their own conception that they are the elite fighting promotion in the world & drop fighters who lose a few fights. It's because of this that many of the top "stars" are fighting elsewhere. Robbie Lawler is a prime example. A good, exciting fighter gets a few losses & the UFC stop using him. Same goes for Nick Diaz & Paul Buentello If you look at the contestants in TUF4 you could pretty much pair them all up & put them on the undercard of UFC62 & it would be a far more attractive card. They should do what Pride do & "loan" out their fighter that is going through some poor form (Ninja) to a smaller (feeder) promotion & try to rebuild his career. Hopefully that is what they'll do with their European venture. |
I have 2 problems with the UFC. The first is that I am sick of rematches i.e Arlovski-Sylvia 3, Ortiz -Shamrock 3. The exception is Griffin-Bonnar 2. I don't even think it will be such a good fight (Look for Forrest to domonate) but I sooo enjoyed the first one though that I look forward to the second. The other problem I have is instant title fights. Babalu should have had at least one tune up in the UFC before the title shot. Yes he has won 10 in a row, but not in the UFC! |
What the fuck are you talking about? Babalus last 3 fights...Taken straight from Sherdog. Win Mike Van Arsdale Submission (Rear Naked Choke) UFC 57 Win Chael Sonnen Submission (Triangle Choke) UFC 55 Win Travis Wiuff Submission (Armbar) UFC 52 Durr...You can pull your head out of your ass now. |

yea the rematch shit is a little much....chuck liddel is gonna fight like what 3 times this year maybe? lok at 04 Cro Cop fought like 6-7 i cant remember but i think it was 7. i wanna see good cards start to finish with fighters im interested in. |
I wonder if the problem with the big stars only fighting every so often is that they feel that if they don't headline the event then they won't get the money they feel they are due. I am a fan of the UFC and am beginning to see the problems within the organization, someone earlier spoke about fighters losing once and then being sent packing i think that the worst case was IVan Salaverry, he lost and was sent on his way, but if not he would have made the division that much more respectable. You who say that Babalu didn't desreve an immediate title shot have no freaking idea what you are talking about as someone later pointed out, also who else would you have given the shot to. Tito didn't deserve it, Forrest was coming off a lose, and that only leaves Babalu for him to fight from within the UFC. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont a lot of Athelitic commishions have mandortaty(sp?) time between fights. I think it is 6 weeks to two montsh. If thats true than that could explain why the some UFC fighters dont fight as much. While in Japan the rules are not as strict. |
