Dean Lister

I have a quick question about Lister. If I remember correctly there was a time when he was in his KOTC days that he was known as a leg lock master and in both of his UFC fights I don't think that I have seen him try even one. Do you all think that there is a reason for that, is the leg lock not a viable move becasue of the quality of fighters or has he just strayed from something that he was dominate with.

actually Dean won in KOTC with an armbar more than anything. And I may be mistaken but I think Dean went for a kneebar in his last match vs Sasaki also. He's a submission expert all around. He just goes with whatever is open.

That's right on the money.

The guy is a great submission fighter, but I was bored to tears with that fight the other night. He had Sasaki down and should have been able to finish him with strikes... BUT... Lister has NO power... that was a sad ass attempt at fighting...

I love MMA and that covers both Striking and the ground game, but unless Lister drastically improves his striking, I don't care to see him fight again on a UFC card...

Go back to the Abu Dhabi submission events and bore people there...

Not every MMA fight is gonna end with a TKO, and I enjoy a good sub fighter too, but you need an all around game to be in the UFC...

I think the main problem was that he cut so much weight for that fight that his endurance was down. He looked like he just ran out of steam.

YA...he did look like he ran out of steam.i thought he was gonna lose he looked so bad.

Wow...just wow. Did you think his fight with Sakara was boring? I won't even bother asking if you've seen his KOTC fights.

Once he gets used to fighting at 185, this will no longer be the case. It's funny how many people think cutting 20 lbs. is nothing.
