Fedor V/S Coleman sucks

I know i will get crucified but get real fedor-coleman has been done and wasnt even competitive. coleman may actually die mid ring. I love the shogun-randleman match up, but couldnt they get a better main event.

i agree

Sure it's not the best it could be if you follow Pride, but from a strictly business point of view, it's a damn good one. A lot of UFC-only and American MMA fans don't know who Fedor is, but a lot them, including old UFC fans, know who Coleman is. Pride knows that their fans are going to go already because it's their first time in America. But Coleman was a former UFC champion who is going to help bring in some non-Pride fans, which Pride is going to need if they want to take over the UFC in America.

whitey64 08-21-2006 05:06 PM

of course they could have used a better fighter but they needed some who has made a name for themselves already and who is from the united states and that is coleman not to mention they will probley use some of the "cold war" bullshit and pit it USA vs Russia.

big hogg 08-21-2006 05:56 PM

I guess the us vs russia makes sense but coleman will get destroyed.
I would have rather seen shogun-coleman and fedor-randleman. then tthey should have resigned rampage and had him face vitor belfort both of which are known in the states. I think pride will do great with mma fans but flop with the general public. Maybe they will have tyson vs butterbean lol that will sell some ppv.

to me, it's going to be a matchup i'm really looking forward to, since Coleman and Randleman have always been my two favorite MMA fighters. I think at least one of these two Hammerhouse guys will pull off the upset. It happened at Pride GP Total Elimination 2004. Randleman knocked out Cro Cop, and Randleman was a huge underdog.

I feel confident that Coleman or Randleman will win their fight that night

I'm not excited over the match up at all, but it makes sense from a business stand point. Also Fedor hasn't fought since NYE and is recovering from hand surgery, so I didn't expect them to put him against a top contender.

binimac 08-21-2006 07:46 PM

yeah, god forbid fedor have any compatition for his first fight back. hes so indestructible that he needs to be eased into a decent fight? give me a break

It's interesting how pride has UFC has beens like Belfort and Coleman. Who gives at rats a** about those shmucks anymore.
