There is no shame in getting taken down by Charuto. However, he passed full gaurd on one the best BJJ fighters around, and did it with ease. How easily do you think he'd pass Pyle? I expect a decent fight, but damn dude. I don't care who you've fought, Shields has eaten maybe 5 punches in his last 4 fights and only been taken down once. If that's not dominance, nothing is.

not getting KOd is different than having good standup.

Matt Hughes managed not to get KOd until GSP, and his standup is terrible. im talking about going out there for the purprose of getting a KO, a win with the standup for once. Shields should know not to do that for his own ego like Hughes did though.

and Charuto's guard was controlling Shields. he got the pass because of the cage. Charuto had a sweep going, and gave it up because of Jake's underhook, then Jake used the fence to keep his base and passed.


i think Shields is a step above his current competition, and he should beat Pyle. it'll just be way more competitive than anybody on this forum is expecting, and he's not a top 5 guy.
