Jason Von Flue - Use to hate him, now he makes me laugh

I admit that I use to watch wrestling in my younger days. Not a proud fact, just a fact. Anyway...there was this angle (yeah...wrestling lingo...sorry) where Barry Harowitz (or however you spell the name...I couldn't care less) lost over 100 matches in a row and he would always get pissed when he lost.

I kind of think of Von Flue in the same way. Yeah...he has won fights and may be a middle of the road fighter, but his attitude sucks ass. It sucks so bad it makes me laugh.

I absolutely loved that he flipped off Joe Riggs on UFN6 and Joe preceeded to choke him out harder. At first I said to myself "Wow...incredibly poor sportsmanship" then it made me realize he is destined for a losing streak.

So...this post is dedicated to you Mr. Von Flue. Your shit talking before the fight that you can;t back up, your absolute refusal to admit that age really is a bitch, and to your ability to piss off opponents so much that they want to hurt you more and more inside the ring.

What the heck, give the guy a break. He'll never be champion of the world, but he is making an honest living and having fun. The sport needs characters like this. The guy's got balls - nobody expected him to last that long on TUF. It's not like the guy is Iron Mike Sharpe or something...

I don't pretend to know who Jason Von Flue really is outside of the octagon, but from what I can tell, he's just being true to who he is. So the guy gets pissed off sometimes. If I dedicated myself to something as much as he has, maybe I'd need a little anger to fuel my fire every now and then. He's tough as hell, and his attitude is part of that. Not everyone is going to be a model sportsman (like Waylon Mercy), and I think that MMA needs the occasional bad attitude.

I dont mind him too much. He'll never be a great fighter, but, and contrary to whatever Hughes wants to bitch about, he has a lot of heart. He's pretty entertaining at times and he did pull off a submission I've never seen before during a previous fight.

Oh...I agree with you 100%, but...and this is a BIG but, you don't disrespect your opponent when they have given you all the respect you supposedly deserve. Joe Riggs did nothing to deserve the finger except beat his ass. Be a bad boy outside the ring, but once you step through there, show some respect.

Yeah...thats weird...I have never seen that submission before and I see it twice in a single week. All the cool kids must be using that submission...

He flipped off the ref, not Riggs.

JMO; That was his way of saying he didn't submit. Then of course he did but heyyyy, it was entertaining for a second.

My guess is that the ref must have asked him if he gives up, then got flipped off, then watched Von Flue tap.
