Sucks that GSP is out ,but they couldn't of got a better replacement than Penn. This should be a very good fight.I think Penn could pull out the victory again.I'll be rooting for him.

Yeah, hopefully GSP will get that title shot in a few months.
Matt Hughes will win this time when he fights BJ Penn. I think he'll probably ground and pound him into submission or KO him

I do not think that Hughes is going to let that happen again. If you saw his reaction after the fight when he was looking at the ref (was it McCarthy?) it seemed like he was saying "What the fuck are you going to do? He caught me."
I predict Hughes will be push it offensively, but not take any chances. His game plan will be to wear him down for 2 rounds and then overpower him in the last round. Hughes cardio is great and I think he will use it to his advantage.

Sounds good. I don't think that Matt will lose this one though. I know that Penn is a great fighter, and has changed much since their last meeting, but I think the same of Matt.
This also puts Diego Sanchez's hopes at a title shot on the back burner, since GSP will likely get the winner of this fight.
Later.

Hopefully we'll be able to see Hughes vs. St. Pierre II finally happen on the December PPV. Karo lost his title shot after getting hurt but St. Pierre is too much of a star to pull that on.

Championship fights are 5 rounds. IMO, this fight is just as exciting as a fight with GSP. True, GSP is the true challenger but this is the only division that is capable to replace such a major fight with another great challenger such as Penn. This is probably the fight the UFC was wanting to happen before Penn lost the decision to St. Pierre. I feel that Penn would've won the fight against GSP if he would've been conditioned for a full three rounds. I thought he dominated round 1 but gassed the last two rounds. I don't think he'll make the same mistake again. Should be a very exciting fight! I know I'll be taking off work to see this card. The Swick vs. Loiseau fight is also a big one for me!

That would be bullshit if GSP has to fight Diego before getting his title shot. I doubt it happens, i see him getting the winner and the loser of Hughes/Penn fighting Diego, either of which will badly beat Diego. I'd rather see Hughes/GSP 2 rather than Penn/GSP 2 though. If Hughes beats Penn he definately makes a loud statement for p4p best in the UFC and a top p4p guy in the world (not the best but up there). If he wins it'll be between him/Franklin/Chuck for p4p best in the UFC.

If he loses though I hope he goes down to 155.Dominates everyone and leads to a Jens pulver rematch.

He definately is in rough shape right now and it shows when he gasses after 2 rounds. An in shape 155lbs Penn is a very very dangerous guy. But i still think Sherk at 155lbs would give him all kinds of problems, don't know who i'd pick there.
