Default What caused the bad blood between Tito Ortiz and The Lions Den?

Was it that Tito lost to Guy Mezger, then beat him in the rematch and had that "Guy Mezger is my bitch" t-shirt? Was it something else?

Did Frank Shamrock have a special shirt made up for UFC 22 after he beat Ortiz?

I watched UFC 30 last night and Tito explained his feud with the lions den in an interview. It all started after Mezger first beat Ortiz, Mezger said Tito was "soft" or "didn't hit hard" or something to that extent. That really ticked off Tito which started his side of the hatred towards the lion's den. After taking out Jerry Bohlander at UFC 18, he flipped off the lion's den which began their side of the hatred. It was on from there.

Frank did not have a T-shirt made, but Tito did put on a Frank Shamrock shirt after he lost to him which I thought showed good sportsmanship on Tito's part. One point that gets lost in this entire feud is that there never was any bad blood between Frank Shamrock and Tito (mostly because Frank was not part of the lions den at the time, he was training with Maurice Smith and TK). They actually became friends after their fight.

This is why I don;t understand people that think Ortiz is disrespectful. Frank beat him and Ortiz puts his shirt on...holy Christ...that is a huge sign of respect.

Every time I have seen Ortiz lose and there was not bad blood between the fighters, he always gives the other fighter a HUGE amount of respect.

Hughes and Ortiz are two of my favorite fighters, not because I think they are the best, but because they put on a damn good show.

Ok he shows respects when he gets his ass beat ill give him that but... he just got his ass beat! he has no choice!

after a win he shows disrespect, the team punishment shirts, and most recently the Forrest Griffin fight.. the injury excuses and accusing Forrest of cheating.. come on now.. I dont hate Tito but its hard to like him when hes so damn disrespectful.

Damn...I didn't see the fight nor the post fight interviews. What injuries did he say he had? What did he accuse Griffin of doing to cheat?
