in terms of ppv buys they are more apt to get ppv buys from them because whos going to pay 35 dollars for a ppv except for people who know the sports. causal fans either catch the fight at a bar where you pay nothing or a couple bucks or get together in groups and so the cost is split. not saying hardcore fans dont do that but i know mysleft along with the other people i know who know mma were not very intreagued by this fight. i wanted to see the card for the undercard. and if i saw chuck vs silva i would be much more interested.

UFN cards are were the casual fan really tunes in because its free. its like boxing. sure a group of people get together to buy a ppv now and then but when does someone just flick on the tv and say cool look at that guy im gonna pay to watch it by myself. not many people i know are gonna do that.

Interesting note, or at least I think so: UFC.com had aq poll on there site for the Hughes v Gracie fight, when I voted it showed the results and the majority of the votes where Gracie to win a submission. Not sure where these votes came from, amybe casual fans who didn't really know Matt that well or maybe educated fans who know Matt has a habit of giving his back. any opinions

PS. my vote was Hughes by KO/TKO

You keep bringing up casual fans & I still have no idea what you're talking about.

Are you trying to tell me that people who follow the UFC purely because of the TUF series know who Royce Gracie is?

Not a chance. Believe me if you know who Royce Gracie is, you know who Wanderlei Silva is.

Again Dana White won't be able to sell Liddle Vs Silva as much as he could Hughes Vs Gracie?? My gran could sell that fight & she's been dead for 10-years!!

Champion Vs Champion, it worked for Coleman Vs Smith way back when.

Seriously, you think Liddle Vs Silva wont sell as well as Hughes Vs Royce, sorry bud, I'm not buying it.
