I hope he doesn't fight him again. I'd rather see him retire. It's like a wave crashing against a rock...it makes a splash, but when it's over, the rock is still there.

I know I said that too.
I wonder how much of it was Silva trying to make Rich feel better, and how much of it was him trying to get in his head and break his will and confidence.

After watching the Rich Franklin countdown training and interviews, I think he was still a little afraid. After last night, I feel it is certain that if they were to fight again, he would be scared.
Anderson has knocked him out 3 times in 2 very, very, very one-sided fights.

What speaks the loudest to me was the calmness that Anderson came out with, and that same calmness that he subsequently executed his game plan and Rich Franklin.

I dont think rich should retire but he needs to at least take some time off. He has broken his hand three times and his nose at least twice he needs to let his body heal up properly and then I think he should get into a different training camp. If he heals properly and switches his training style i think he could come back better than ever.

If Rich has to go back to teaching, it could lead to trouble.

Some kid gives him lip, Rich gets a flashback of getting his nose crushed...again.

That kid is gonna get f*cked up!!! Ace will crush the little kid's face.

they should keep okami and not let franklin retire. okami is a big talent for the division, a very solid fighter and i think that the ufc puts too much emphasis on excitement/marketability of fighters. besides, okami isn't a bad draw for the fans really. franklin is too young to retire, he just has to get solid training in, maybe switch camps, get back up to lhw instead of cutting so much weight. i wish silva had broken his nose the other way to get it straightened out.

Absolutely right. He can't keep breaking the same hand hand repeatedly without severe and permanent consequences. And he needs to start training with a different gym, preferably one with experienced Muay Thai practitioners.

As for Tim Sylvia, I think both Kongo and Nog would defeat him, albeit by different tactics. Perhaps a greater danger to his career than either of these two fighters, are his own boring performances of late. Other than his loss to Couture, his last couple of fights have been extermely boring. He did have brief spurts in the Vera match where he let his hands go, so he obviously has the ability to put on a good show. I think he needs to strike more and push for the knockout to up the excitement level.

Ugh. I hope Sherk doesn't appeal again for more time. I can understand him wanting as much time as possible to present his case, but it's only going ot cost him more time on the shelf and more restlesness of the fans.
