Rashad Evans...contender?

With rashads style of fighting I.E..Laying on top of his opponents until the fight is over and hoping for a decision, will he ever move up the ranks? I mean seriously..against Tito, Chuck, or any ofther top LHW's he is gonna get his head taken clean off his body..any thoughts?

Since he has only had a few, only 1 out of the show i can think of, i have seen no more than you have..however, Laying on Chuck won't get the job done..he is gonna have to learn to fight.

Lol, Rashad has a standup game.. watch his fight with Imes and TUF, his first 3 fights he won by TKO as well.. hes got heavy hands, the only problem Rashad has is he cant finish on the ground which is common with wrestlers.. give him time hes got a lot of upside.

Fair enough. Only time will tell.
He seems like a good guy, i hope he turns it up a notch. unfortunatly, Dana is focused on what draws money, and not who wins fights. He should have been featured in more fights, I mean like the show or not..he did win it.

If he ever develops a standup game and improves his ground game, he'll be a much better position to be a contender. As it stands now...well his last 5 fights were decisions, which gets very boring very quickly. But like Koscheck, he can improve and we'll see what happens; he just needs time and experience.

You are absolutely right. He put Imes on his ass 2 or 3 times with punches.

I think this is a case of "What have you done for me lately" with poor Rashad. Nobody complained about him until his fight with Bonnar.

id take Rashad over Forrest, and just about any LHW from TUF thats not named Mike Bisping who I think he has a shot at beating but not right now Bisping is a lot further ahead of him.

As far as LHWs in the UFC.. Rashad is up there, he cant beat Chuck or Babalu thats for damn sure.. but Rashads wrestling is real good, hes in good shape, and he has a standup game that just needs to keep improving, once he starts passing guard on the ground and beatin ppl.. hes gonna be a force! and I think once Chuck retires, and its between Babalu, Bisping, Tito, Forrest, and whoever else the UFC has in the LHW (cant really think right now) Rashad is gonna be a contender.. could be champ.

I feel about Rashad the same way I do about Hamill. Both extremely strong and have a good base to build a fighter on. Rashad is a little further ahead at this point. I think Matt Hughes taught us that a solid and powerful wrestler can find ways to win until his game develops. More so than just a pure striker.

He has no heart.he makes no effort to finsih fights.watch his fight on TUF2 against Mike whitehead.Mike didn't even throw one punch in that 15 mintue fight and Rashaad still just stood there and bounced around.I think Rashaad threw 8 punches in that entire fight. He's boring and he has no heart.
