Thats Okami likes to do. There was a point in the fight where Mac was taking some bombs and the ref was about to stop the fight. I think Jason needs to realize that he's not the most exciting fighter and that at best he is the 4th best MW in the division.

Okami style is a lot like the New Jersey Devils of the 90s or the Spurs of today. He has a game plan, you know what it is and you have to beat him at or take him out of it. If not you are in for one long night on your back getting punched in the head. Outside of 2 rounds to Franklin, Okami has won every round he has fought in the UFC. He has only lost to one guy, who was a bad match-up for him, plus I would almost argue that fight should have been a draw. You could make the argument that the 3rd round was a 10-8 round for Okami.
I do think that if he opens up his style a little like against Franklin in the 3rd, he will be almost impossible to beat. Also he will be champion by April next year. He can beat Silva.

and good point on the whole Franklin thing. Okami safely survived a whole fight with Rich, and Macdonald got the piss beaten outta him! maybe Macdonald will be outta the UFC now...prolly not though.

As for Okami, I wouldn't hand him any title shots just yet, he doesn't even have a contract right now.

I read somewhere that Okami's contract expired and that UFC isnt a big fan of his fighting style so they may not resign him. If im Dana White im getting that ink penn out and signing him to a new contract.
If they dont resign him and get some talent in the MW divison its going to look more like AA baseball farm lague,
UfC made a huge mistake by not signing Kang.

| As a Canadian i will say i do not like watching Macdonald fight. I however, for whatever reason, do enjoy watching Okami fight.
I am hoping for a Silva/Okami 2 so Silva can avenge that "loss". That kick by Silva was crazy, to bad it got him DQ'd from the fight.
