|  Is Frankiln Over Rated?
OK i am gonna catch some heat here, but to calm your nerves, I am a Franklin fan too.... but honestly, lets look at his last ten fights....
Jorge Rivera-Win- Mid to lower level fighter
Curtis Stout- Win- Fighter batting under .500
Ken Shamrock- Win- Over the hill... hasn't won since...
Even Tanner- Win- Was drunk when he fought Rich
Nate Quarry- Win- Mid Card fighter, wasn't ready or deserving of a title shot
David Louiseau- Win- Went the distance with a mid-lower level fighter
Anderson Silva- LOSS- Top tier fighter... KTFO
Jason MacDonald- Win- Mid Card Fighter, notable wins, Leben and Herman... and...and...umm...and....
Yushin Okami- Win- Young Fighter, will get better, very close decision
Andersen Silva- LOSS- Best pound for pound fighter in the world... KTFO again
So was Rich really that highly ranked of a fighter? I mean he is definitely a very good fighter, but not great, and struggled when tested instead of rising to the occasion.
Franklin needs to train to become more well rounded, learn better stand up defense, and, in my opinion, change camps...
What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure he's overrated. He's like the 5th or 6th best Middleweight fighter, and when you look at the rest of the top ten he's probably where he should be. Silva, Hendo, Filho, Lindland, and Kang are ranked ahead of him. There is just a huge gap between the MW fighters the UFC has to offer between Silva and the rest.

Rich is a very good fighter who ran into a great fighter. The division he ruled over could have been more competitive yes but that's not his fault. He won the fights he was supposed to win. I knew Silva would win the first time and I knew he'd win again. If you've seen Silva before then you know that picking Silva the first time they fought isn't exactly going out on a limb.
Rich unfortunately ran into Brazilian kryptonite.

I dont think he's overrated because no one was saying he was the best MW in the world, to my knowledge iv'e never seen him #1 in the rankings.
I think he easily ONE of the best MW's in the world withSilva,Hendo,Kang,Filho and Linland ahead of him so he's around 6-7 IMO which is where i always thought he was.
It's brutal how the UFC only has like 1 of the top 5 MW's in the world. I know they got Hendo but he doesnt wanna fight at MW and i know Filho is in the WEC but i cant see him fighting for the UFC anytime soon.
The UFC is in Desperate need for some decent MW talent if i was dana white i would be bending over backwards to get Kang,Lindlan and Filho in the UFC, hell they could get the crow and evan tanner back and it would be better then what it is now

nah i dont think u should get heat for this... i've thought about it myself before that he hasn't faced the greatest competition. It's clearly not his fault, he fought who he was supposed to and pretty much won definitively in most fights. He's good all around but not really great in anything. He has a lot of heart and a lil bit of a padded record due to poor competition, however it's ufc's job to sign the best and make them face off ....not his.
I still consider him to be in the top 5-6 mw's in the world and till they sign bigger guys, rankings aren't going to change much.

i'm not a fan of Rich but he's a great well-rounded fighter.
