Ogawa if he'd fight more. Yoshida fights a lot and I'm sure he's making bank with as much as he makes. I have no idea really because I'm not sure what PRIDE pays out. They certainly don't fight for a North American company, unless you count sponsors in which case the Liddell's of the world probably be AMONG the highest paid in the sport.

actually wit sposnsor you'd still have the Japanese fighters profit more. they're more of celebrites in Japan and the sponsors are much better to them

I suppose in the long run that it all depends on who is the biggest draw. Maybe the thread should be title "Who is the biggest draw in MMA" because the only reason company's are going to throw out big bucks is if they expect that fighter to make them more than what they paid for. It makes no sense to lose profit on a fighter.

even without sponsors, the headliners for the newyears eve shows in japan are making absurd amounts of money. guys like yoshida and ogawa like stated before. also guys like akebono who probably made over 6 mill us for the fights with sapp and probably makes over a mill a fight in heros now. people love that guy and even though he sucks flock to watch him.
