Bas vs. Kimo @ WFA; Mayhem's Opponent http://www.mmanews.com/article/150947079.php More Huge Rumors For WFA 7/22 Return Show Flyers were handed out at the UFC 60 show this past weekend in Los Angeles, California promoting the upcoming WFA "King of the Streets" show on 7/22 with Quinton Jackson vs. Matt Lindland headlining. Apparently, the rumors are true as listed on the flyer in addition to the main event was Bas Rutten vs. Kimo and Jason "Mayhem" Miller vs. Lodune Sincaid of Ultimate Fighter season one. Also on the card which was already previously announced by the WFA themselves: Ricco Rodriguez vs. Ron Waterman, Ivan Salaverry vs. Art Santore, and "Lyoto" Ryoto Machida vs. Vernon "Tiger" White. ---------- If this turns out to be legit, I'm a happy man. Bas might be old, but I think he can handle Kimo - and I'd love to see him fight again, no matter who the opponent. I hope if he is back he's got better takedown defense than before, and I wonder what he's weighing, if he's fighting Kimo and it's a sanctioned event he's gotta be somewhere at Heavyweight. Mayhem is gonna clown Sincaid if that's his real opponent too. |
ohhh man I wanna see Bas Rutten vs Kimo real bad |
i wanna see more open hand palm shots!!!! Mayhem will run a clinic on Sincaid, if so. |
I see Mayhem killing Sincaid, but I'm still more excitied about the Rampage/Lindland fight, that should be pretty damn amazing. Bas vs Kimo... Interesting to say the least. |
I heard the Bas vs Kimo thing a long time ago i thought this thread was saying it was official! :( If it happens i say Bas by schoolage! (yea i brought my word back out for this one) Mayhem will be too much for Sincaid. This is a great card, i can't wait to see this. |
If they secure Bas for the card, mixed with Rampage/Lindland main event, and a ton of other establishes fighters on the card - they will sell some PPVs. They've got the money for promotion, the internet is going to be behind them more than any other company because of who they've got (Bas, Rampage, Mayhem alone are 3 of the most "loved" fighters by the internet "die-hard" clan) If that's true, this whole promotion has all the right pieces in place and is gonna do some serious business. I'm really excited for the rest of the card to be made official so I can see if this is true. If it is, I'll be anticipating this PPV as much as any PRIDE or UFC in recent memory. Bas's return is huge for me as I probably know him the best in person, and I've always hoped for him to return as I didn't really follow his Pancrase or even his UFC run as they were happening. I always mark out for a good Rampage fight, and he's got one here. Mayhem is always a blast to watch. Finally get to see this Lyoto guy live. |
ryoto i saw sincade fight in the wec not to long ago when he beat james irvin and he looked much improved over his TUF days. im not saying he will beat mayhem but i think it will be a much better fight then people give him credit for. kimo sucks and bas will destroy him any way he chooses. also i also cant wait to see lyoto fight, the guys a beast and hopefully if the wfa doesnt keep him the ufc can pick him up so we can get a rematch with franklin. that match would be amazing right now. |
Isn't he a 205 fighter though? Is he big for the weight? I've never seen him fight except two computer video clips, one of most of the Penn fight, and the other being just the knockout itself during the Franklin fight. If he's a solid 205 fighter he's already got a win over Bonnar, Franklin when he was 205, and of course Penn trying to jump too high and losing. It's three very credible names to the UFC audience, and he's got the goods to back the hype it seems, so I would love to see Lyoto in the UFC. |
Yes Sincade has definitely improved. I saw his last 2 WEC fights as well and he pretty much dominated the competition. He won the WEC LHW title at the last event. He is becoming a pretty solid fighter. Not great, but better than his potential looked on the TUF show. I think Mayhem could handle him pretty easily if they do indeed fight. He is superior on the ground and Sincaid doesn't have much stand up. I'm just interested in seeing what weight they would fight at. |
