rich franklin is a way better striker. hes also stronger but silva is faster. i pick franklin. referee stoppage due to punches. silva wont be able to take the pressure once rich starts throwing bombs his way. by the way, rich is 22-1. go figure.

Anybody can get caught. He has one loss out of like 24 fights, and it came from possibly THE BEST up and coming fighter in the sport right now, Lyoto Machida. I think his chin is doin ok for him. Besides, I don't think I've ever seen Anderson Silva fight a striker who was on his level. Franklin, however, fought Louiseau not too long ago, and though he got dropped once in the fight, he still dominated and even had The Crow running from him on a few occasions (literally)

This fight is a total toss up as I don't think either of these guys have ever had to face such an intense challenge. Franklin may try to take it to the ground to nullify The Spider's strikes, but Silva is a BJJ expert too. Each of them are very well rounded and it will be razor close no matter where the fight takes place. Instead of disagreeing on who will win the fight, we should all agree that it will be possibly one of the best fights in mma history, and we as fans are all winners.
Lyoto is a good up and coming fighter, I would certainly not put him as the top up and comer but around #5-#8 or so.

It could be a great fight but IMO given the fact that Tanner and the Crow dropped Franklin with one punch (The Crow's coming late in the fight after being pummeled the entire fight so there was not a whole lot of snap on the Crow's punches at that point) I am inclined to believe that if they stand and bang someone is going to get KO'ed and we will not see this great standup war of them trading strikes as I am not sure Franklin or A. Silva can take the punishment though Silva has taken some punishment as wittnessed in that awesome fight he lost to Chonan.

I hope for a war but I am not really expecting one.

only thing that worries me is that franklin is coming back from an injury. (he hasnt fought in 9 months). and to just jump back into the game fighting someone on the calibre of silva is just insane. at least thats my opinion. we just might see a new lhw champ. but i still pick franklin because hes 22-1. damn impressive

I would have to pick Franklin to beat Silva. He's just one of those guys who doesnt know how to lose. He always seems to pull it out of the bag even when he's not performing to his best (Jorge Rivera fight). I just think that Silva's performance against Leben is being taken out of all proportion. Franklin is FAR better than Leben and won't come into the fight with his chin out and hands down and I also think that the fight between Silva and Franklin has the potential to go into the later rounds where I think ultimately Franklin will pull off the victory.

Any of you brilliant minds who say I've seen him rocked before have obviously never been in a fight. IT'S FIGHTING your gonna get rocked! It doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, it matters how many times you get up. Plain and simple, Silva has not earned a title shot in the UFC. Beating Leben doesn't constitute a title shot. Franklin will pound his ass out inside 3 rounds.

I have heard alot of people in my area jump on Silva's band wagon because of the leben fight alone. Leben is good and everything but he walked into everything that Silva threw. And everyone knows that Leben loves to bang and get hit...Franklin will fight much smarter and is alot better fighter than Leben. I think this will be one of the best fights but my pick is going to Franklin by KO!!!

Thumbs up

The Ace will prevail. Rich is a smart fighter. Franklin wins by referee stoppage.
