Where does Joe Riggs go from here? I know a lot of people seem to believe that Riggs is in a do or die situation in the UFC. He seems to be a very hit and miss fighter when it comes to his fights. I tend to believe that he needs to get down to KOTC or something to work on his game. He is a young guy, but right now he lacks the intangibles. It’s almost like a quarterback in the NFL, if you do not have the intangibles it requires to produce a championship, you are shipped away. Am I blowing this out of proportion? Is it just that he has been in the wrong place at the wrong time against the best competition available? Is it because he has been fighting seemingly every, or every other PPV that the UFC puts on? Is it because he is constantly switching weight classes to produce the best marquee fights that Dana White can book him in? What do you think? |
I think the UFC will keep him around for a few more fights...its not like he's on a losing streak, he's just been winning one and losing one. he's 3-3 in the ufc. Give him a few more fights and see how his performance goes. |
I wanna see him and Sherk fight |
I say throw one of these TUF 3 guys at him. ROSS POINTION!!~~!!!! |

I can smell the 5 grand from here. I like Joe too, too bad I gotta bash his face in. .............Joe...........you clogged the toilet. |
that be a great matchup, my pick is Ross Pointon with the suprise win! |
I think it could potentially be better then Forrest/Bonnar. |
Riggs killed Kendall Groves, Kendall owned Pointon....what ya think will happen to Pointon? |
I think the thing with Riggs is he's got all the skills to be one of the best out there, but he just can't seem to put everything together. And I don't just mean put striking with wrestling and that with jiu-jitsu, etc. I mean putting the mental shit together with the game plan combined with doing the right shit at the right time during the fight. Like that one dude I think jimmyterrell said that stood out to me. He's got bad live instincts in a fight. He took that high kick, didn't get rocked or anything but was caught and off balance and he seemingly panicked and just shot straight in. There's a lot of instances like this with Riggs when he fights, but like Rogan said on commentary and anyone who's seen him in the smaller promotions where there's less pressure and such he's been a dominant dude. He hasn't really shown in the UFC what he's capable of. Fighting Class A competition everytime out and shifting to a new weight class for each fight can't help, but I think the other stuff I mentioned is the bigger part of the problem. |
