u know how bad this is for the ww divison... gsp was going to take nearly 8 months off for his #1 contendor match... now it's going to be even longer

well they can still put it for the feb 2nd card since it doesn't have a title match on it... this way gsp can still probably fight the winner in april

that really sucks at least there are two other good fights that night, hopefully they fill the void with a good HW fight. AA would be a nice addition to that card

This blows cock.

Serra will most likely be out any where from 2-5 months so Feb earliest. Puts WW title on hold for damn close to a year same with GSP.

If Serra is not back until March or April makes Hughes have to wait longer, WW will be on hold for a year. Then another 3-4 months for GSP.

This is fucking why Zuffa should not have waited for damn near a year for the fight. Serra should have defended him belt within that time almost 2 freaking times.

Fitch should step up take Hughes on short notice. Wishful thinking

Sense Serras back injury is probably going to keep him out for a bit, i think they should have Hughes v.s. GSP while Serra is coming back from the injury for the simple reason, the ww title was put on hold 7 months or so without being defended and if we wait longer it might only get Hughes v.s. Serra in like March,April than Gsp v.s. winner of that in like oct nov area. so as long as Serra is gone for 2, 3 months put Gsp v.s. Hughes at 80or 81 perfebly 80 sense we had to wait so long than have Serra fight the winner when he is healed.

Awe that sucks I was looking foward to hughes winning I hope they replace it with a title fight cause we didnt get one this month theres the wanderlei and liddle fight but we need a title fight but I dont see that happening Randys out I dont know if hes gonna fight Nog or not, silva fought last month, serras hurt, so its either they have rampage fight or move the Penn vs stevenson fight for next month instead of Jan.

I have a bulging disk in my lower back, it never fully heals, but it heals enough.... i'm sorry, but this injury is extremely common, 2-3 weeks of chiropractic, hot and cold therapy, he'd be good to go. very WEAK.

So you know the medical record of his condition well enough to determine yourself whether he can train and fight. Well at least to say it's bullshit.

I hate serra but I think your claim is pretty weak

As for the fight. I think this bums everyone out. It's not that it was an exciting fight to wait for as much as both serra and hughes seem to be extremely polarizing people. so people love one and hate the other.

He should get a 2nd opinion... Personally I think he's afraid of Hughes. He knows Hughes is a better fighter than he is, I think he's trying to prevent the enevitable.

I think you're off the mark. I fully believe that Serra thinks he can beat Hughes, and I'd be hard pressed to even consider he's using this as an excuse.

It's not impossible of course but I'd be really surprised.
