Default Platinum Fighting Productions "Ring Of Fire" Dec.9th card

Quote:
Platinum Fighting Productions, Asia’s leading promoter of mixed martial arts events, has announced the final card for its “Ring of Fire” show on Sunday, Dec. 9 at Araneta Stadium in Manila, Philippines. Two teams of world-class fighters – coached by Gokor Chivichyan and former UFC heavyweight champion Josh Barnett – will kick off a five-stop series at the stadium, site of the historic “Thrilla in Manila” prize fight between Mohammed Ali and Joe Frazier.

The other two teams involved in the series will be coached by UFC Hall-of-Famers Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock. Each five member team will compete in four events, scheduled to be held in the Philippines, Macau, Japan and China. The top two teams will advance to the final “Ring of Fire” show in December 2008.

“We’ve worked hard to bring the world’s most dynamic MMA champions together in a unique team format in what will prove to be the biggest MMA fights in Asian history,” said Ron Delatorre, CEO of Platinum Fighting Productions.

Seasoned fighters involved with the promotion include Renato "Babalu" Sobral (Team Barnett), Jeff Monson (Team Barnett), Rodney Faverus (Team Gokur), PRIDE veteran Jorge Patino (Team Gracie), Mike Whitehead (Team Lion’s Den) and former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriquez (Team Lion’s Den).

“Having world champion fighters coached by world champion fighters creates a combination for world-class fights and tons of action,” said PFP matchmaker Bobby Gamboa.

Default

Not a terrible card for a smaller org. I'd rather see Josh Barnett fight than coach a team of fighters, but meh.
