| Swick vs Burkman is perfect for Swick @ UFN 12
Mike Huckaby and Dustin James from 411mania.com comment on the fight between Welterweights Mike Swick and Josh Burkman http://www.411mania.com/MMA/columns/...n-12.01.07.htm Quote:
Huckaby: FACT. There aren't many options for Swick's welterweight debut so I feel this one should show perfectly how he would fit at the weight. Let's be honest, Burkman has built a name but he's never going to be a UFC champion. He carries a name that will get Swick respect without really meaning all that much. A finish win by Swick will make him an immediate top 10 contender and put his name out there while a loss wouldn't crush him but would show where he stands realistically. If Swick can make the weight in a healthy way he should own this fight, if not he should be the next guy out the door.
James: FACT. This fight works for Fight Night because UFC likes to promote it's Ultimate Fighter guys on the Fight Night shows. Burkman is a name that people recognize thanks to that show, therefore that will give Swick credibility right away if he does win, especially with one of his quick finishes. If Swick does pull off a win, he needs to sign a fight with somebody a little higher up in the rankings. Like Kos, or Diego (if he doesn't drop), or Fitch, or Karo......I could honestly go on for awhile. Swick's major concern is making weight, but if he has an easy time with that, he should have no problem against Burkman.
| I think this is a great WW debut for Swick. he has the tools to take Burkman out and i hope its via TKO.
Or via Phil Baroni running in and sneaking an ankle lock on him while he's not looking.

yeah, i see swick taking this one pretty easily as well. kos would be a great second fight, but sucks it won't happen b/c they're from AKA. he'll never fight Fitch either.

Burkman is a low level gatekeeper. And this is from someone who likes Burkman. If swick can't finish him handily then I would have serious doubts to whther or not hes really even a contender.

burkman has the worst cardio of any mma fighter ive seen.
if swick cant win this fight he needs to find a new org imo.

karo couldn't finish burkman yet everyone considers him a top ten possibly top five in the WW division. Granted swick has better hands than karo, i still dont see how you can say he needs to change orgs if swick cant finish Burkman
