Alvin- first the weight classes are based on weight. prides mw is the same as ufcs lhw ie 205 pounds. prides ww is the same as their mm ie 185 pounds. pride is 183 but same thing. the have diff names but it goes by weight.

second the fighers you mentioned with losses. look at who they have fought. busta has fought top guy after top guy and only lost to them. silva avenged his loss to arona and his loss to hunt was againt a guy who was 100 pounds heavier. the way your talking a guy who has beaten 20 cans in a row should be ranked higher then silva or busta or rampage.

win loss counts as does quality of opposition and in mma quality of opposition is even more important IMO then in boxing.

That's why we want to do ours this way (which it looks like MMAWeekly is going to steal the idea for their next rankings) because there's really no other way to do it and have at least REASONABLE lists. The ADCC's website 10 top lists are a complete joke. The Sherdog point system and MMAranks.com or whatever, complete joke. You have to have someone who knows what they're talking about, but at the same time many different kinds of opinions. That's why we took it here. Take all these variying opinions and me, Cruz, and a few of our other writers take all the info in and argue out top 10s. We'll have 'em done sometime soon and you guys can argue us out once they're ready.

If anyone wonders, this is why I won't even try to debate LA Suxs anymore. Bro, why can't you just admit you forgot CroCop when you did your list? You don't go from #4 to off top-10 completely for losing one fight to someone you think he shouldn't of lost to. Another guy in the top 10 no less. The only other recent loss was to the best HW and best P4P fighter in the world. That's not enough to go from top 5 to not even top 10 worthy. I don't even know what your list looks like, but if you took CroCop from top 5 to off top-10 completely you shouldn't be allowed to have Hunt, Barnett, Sylvia, Kharitonov, etc. on the list either. And spare me the comeback as I see it already, you'll claim Mirko wasn't top 5 prior to the Hunt loss. If you say that, well then you're just a liar and everyone will know it.

Mirkos big claim was his big high kicks. but other than the Herring fight, he seemed to be mainly beating guys past their primes like Vovchachyn, Colemand and Waterman. People are just so wowed by his high kick that they feel the need to ignore he has a loss a win a loss a win. he hasnt beaten too many of the top guys. the HWs were shook up a lot wit ppl coming up and down where guys like Alistair go and beat Kharitonov and you're not quite sure if he's staying at HW. and i didnt have mirko top 5 for a while. look i'm not a liar, you just love guessing http://cfzforums.com/index.php?showtopic=199&st=75&hl=

and for the record i dont expect much coming out of him in the near future since he showed his mindset that he'd rather show off than win as an MMA fighter.

Not guessing. Well yeah I guessed you were a liar, I didn't click your link but I assume that's your proof that you didn't have him top 5 prior to Hunt. Let me correct myself, and don't get offended here because even though we never agree on anything you're still one of my favorite forum people - if you weren't lieing, you're just kinda stupid. You yourself said rankings aren't a list of who you think is best and blah blah, statistics, quality of opposition, fashion in which they won or lost, etc. all weighs in on making rankings. You can't defend a CroCop under 5 prior to Hunt, and even more so you can't defend a non-top 10 ranking for him now just because he's still a little bit one dimensional. That doesn't matter, what does is how his one dimensional style works in MMA. And aside from losing a DECISION to the best P4P and most well rounded fighter on the planet, and losing to a better one-dimensional style fighter with a huge weight advantage, CroCop has done plenty to deserve top 10 status right now.

Please just admit you forgot CroCop on your latest top 10 rankings lol

prior to hunt i had Fedor, Arlovski, Minotaruo, Kharitonov, and i think Sylvia cuz after the fresh loss to Fedor there went that rush to the top.

i seriously didn't forget, you know why cuz Kdude has him in his. so basically i was too lazy to rewrtie all the names and everything. so i just kept rearranign and adding the ones missin, so basically after the end Mirko hadn't done as much as this other guys have. a lot of this fighters are on the verge of title shots or currently in a streak. if it helps Mirko was the last one bumped outta the top 10. i do also see the difference between a close decision or dominating in your wins as part of the rankings

i really think you people are just so in love wit his high kick that you give him such a boos every time theres a chance, i mean as soon as he had a few wins after losing to Minotauro he was #2 to so many of you and the same happened afte his loss to Randleman, didnt matter that he didnt beat such great names

he gets a win here or there is my main reason, and his record is padded down wit guys who are much smaller or very inexperienced. specially for today's standards. and lately his record isnt much to show off

but if some people feel his high kick is enough to overcome his on and off streaks then by all means
