I'm a huge Karo fan. I like watching his fights because he's a good grappler and i love watching judo..especially in mma...but am I the only one who doesnt think karo deserves a shot at the title? I mean other than the fact that he's got a win over current champ Matt Serra, I see no reason for him to get a title shot.

Sure, he may have deserved a title shot before when he was on a 5
fight win streak after the loss to gsp,
but the division was nowhere near as stacked back then..fickett is good, has real good bjj, nick diaz is well, shit he's a lw now so there ya go...Lytle, he's ok..had decent hands at least..and shonie carter, well.......anyway that loss to diego just set him back so far..he needs to fight jon fitch, koscheck, OR the loser of the interim title bout..i'd be cool with that


edit: burkman and chonan...chonan was a notable win even though it was boring, but everyone knew karo was going to beat burkmans ass

That's why it kind of pisses me off that Karo hasn't done a single Judo throw since Diego. If you don't believe that, watch his fights since then. He hasn't done a single damn judo throw since then.

I'm a huge Fitch fan. He and Davis are just about the only UFC fighters I like in the WW division. But I think the statement "once the Hughes/GSP/Serra issue is resolved" make it seem like two of them are going to die and leave a single champion.

Fitch is a great fighter with a great streak, but he's beaten one top 10 guy, in Diego, and Diego gave him a much harder time than he gave Kos. Kos is coming off a one-sided loss to GSP, but right now, I actually think Fitch would lose just as badly. [...it stings a little, just typing that...]

Karo and Kos have fought better fighters than Fitch has fought. I do think Fitch would beat Karo soundly, and I think he'd eke out a decison over Kos, but right now, I just don't see Jon as a clear #1 contender based on his streak.

karo decisioned burkman, fitch killed him. karo lost to diego, whom fitch beat. if anything, fitch vs karo or karo vs koscheck.
