What ever happened to Pedro Rizzo? I used to really like watching him fight back in the earlier UFC days but he seemed to kind of disappear. He's only 32 years old which isn't that old in todays MMA world. Did he retire or bulk up like Ricco or what?

He fought in Feb. of this year and lost in the first rd. at 25 seconds. That was his last fight according to Sherdog. He's 3-6 in his last 9 fights........

On the events page on Sherdog.com it says that he has a fight in Lithuania sometime this fall, I forget what the specific date is.

Since he left the UFC he went to PRIDE and got KO'd twice very quick by Kharitonov and Zentsov. He hasn't fought in about half a year or so

It is a real shame. That guy had the potential to be one of the all time greats of the sport.

I know what you mean. He seemed to have a severe lack of confidence in has last few fights also. Like he just did not want to let it all go.

Default his big mistake
He keeps dropping his hands when he thows that leg kick and that caused him to get knocked-out in his last fight. It also caused him to get his nose broken by Gan McGee which of course ended that fight back a few years.

rizzo was a devastating striker in his prime but i just dont think he has it left in an him anymore after to t(ko's) in pride you can defitnley tell he is past his prime

Rizzo was never that good. I dont know what fights people look at sometimes or maybe they just dont understand what good stand up looks like. Rizzo is slow, non agressive, can only counter punch, he does have good power but he sucks against a good striker. His ground game is suspect because everytime he's in with a good wrestler he is dominated when he's on the ground. Everytime Rizzo got his knock outs it was against sub par strikers, period.
