| Rampage trainer: Our plan is to get vengeance against Wanderlei Silva and Shogun Quote:
“I’ve always said that our plan is to get vengeance, you know? Our plan is to get everyone that beat us and our plan is to get Wanderlei Silva or Shogun next. That’s just on my desire list, but I don’t know if those kids are ready or if they even want to fight Rampage so we’ll have to see. We’ll make a choice collectively with the matchmaker Joe and the promoter Dana and see what the choice is.”
Juanito Ibarra — the trainer for UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson — wants to go after former Pride FC stars Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Both Brazilian fighters have crushed Rampage when all three competed in Japan. In fact, Silva has done it twice. For that to happen anytime soon, however, Silva would have to get passed Chuck Liddell at UFC 79: “Nemesis” on December 29. Shogun, on the other hand, would have to put together a few more wins after his upset loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 76: “Knockout” in September.

It might take longer, but a healthy Wandy or Shogun would probably still beat Rampage.

I just hope the UFC takes a page out of Pride's playbook and the American fans take a page from the ones in Japan. What I mean is now most all of the divisions in the UFC are stacked with great talent and especially a lot of young fighters. I hope that they can set up great fights with everyone squaring off against one another and regardless of the outcome, they will still all be great fighters who can continue to compete against other great fighters. The way it is now, it's like it's a tournament in each division and there can only be one great fighter and then everybody else below them. And once you lose a couple fights nobody gives a shit about you anymore. I think they should just make interesting matchups and see what happens. Wand v. Chuck, Shogun v. Chuck, Shogun v. Rampage, Wand v. Rampage, Forrest v. Wand, Forrest v. Chuck, Forrest title shot v. Rampage, Tito v. Shogun, Tito v. Wand II, T. Silva v. any of them, Anderson Silva moving up to take on any of them.... etc, etc, etc.... Anyway, my point is that the fans should be able to see all of these fights and the fighters should be able to compete in all these fights. If any of these guys lose any or all of these fights I don't think that really takes anything away from them. Being the second or third best in the world is still pretty damn good!! And these fighters should be celebrated, not forgotten about. That's what was great about Pride and japanese fighters and fans; you could lose two, three, four fights and still be a fan favorite and still get more good fights.

It doesn't matter if you don't like them; Anderson Silva and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are the best at what they do and it's not even close. The only way to shut them up is to beat them in the ring.

WAR Rampage!
its a shame he still gets no respect when it comes to rematches with Wand and Shogun. in the UFC, Rampage would beat them both.

People say so matter-of-factly that Rampage will lose to both Shogun and Wandy. Its clear that Rampage isnt the same fighter he was when he fought Shogun and Wandy before. The rematches will be different.

People need to realize 3 things.
1. None of them are the same fighters they were back then. Especially Rampage. His training, camp, and overall preparation have all come leaps and bounds since back then. Shogun very well could have been at his peak then. We will see about Wandy. I want him to crush Chuck, and I think he will, but let's see.
2. Rampage almost finished Wandy the second time around. Then something happened and he took 16 consecutive knee strikes to be KO'd. I really don't see that happening again.
3. In his fight with Shogun, Rampage broke his rib pretty much right away, then he suffered the consequences the rest of the fight. People talk about it like Shogun just destroyed Rampage and after the fight it was discovered that the ass kicking was so thorough that he also had a broken rib.
Go back and watch the fight again. Rampage is telling his corner it is broken like a minute or minute and a half into the fight. He then continues to tell them while Shogun tries to put the hurt on Rampage. The guy was pretty much crippled for the whole fight, and Shogun couldn't put him out. A rematch will be much different.
If people want to talk about Penn and CC's rib injury, they cannot ignore this one. Props to Shogun for doing that damage, but the rest of the fight he was trying to kill a very very injured Rampage, and he couldn't.

After reading everything everyone has said on here I still say Wanderlei smashes Rampage. He has that edge on him. 2 Horrible losses. Shogun? If the injury was that significant, I can see a VERY different fight. Especially in a cage.
