It might take longer, but I'm calling a similar finish to this fight as to GSP/Hughes 2. Matt knows what to expect, but he won't be able to find a way around it.

Without meaning to denigrate either fighter, Serra's only knockout was against GSP. That kind of makes me wonder whether Serra really has that much power, or whether GSP has an Arlovski-like chin.
Does anyone know whether GSP has ever been hurt?

but even though his power doesnt seem to be a big factor at 170, BJ abused him with counters in their fight, especially the first round, right after the eye poke and the broken nose, when it should be easiest to catch someone flush.
on the other hand, in Serra's fight with Karo, he hit that fool so hard his face hit the mat, if i recall. and i havent seen many of those come from guys that hit like bitches.

I'd like Hughes to win by split decision just so he can go on and shut Matt Serra up.

Even if GSP wins, I'm sure we're gonna see Hughes-Serra sometime in the future. That's almost a given.

Serra just tends to rely more on his takedowns and jits; if/when he eventually fights Hughes, he'll try to keep the fight on the feet.
On topic though, GSP's chin is just fine. BJ Penn is no weakling when it comes to striking power, and he nailed GSP repeatedly in their fight. Besides, it shouldn't be a factor in the upcoming Hughes fight.

penn/pulver II wasn't the blowout that many people expected/view it to be. in this third fight, i think hughes will show that he learned his lesson from the second, and i think he'll stalk gsp more and not try to stand with him. i can see gsp winning by tko (strikes) in round 3.

I agree with the rest of your post, though.

Matt Hughes is the greatest Welterweight in the history of the UFC, he is also one of my favorites, but iv been saying for a long time even before there 2nd meet, that GSP(well balanced and polished in almost every aspect of afight) is going to rule the WW divisionand get the belt, and hold on to it for a long time..... they are both my top 2 fav WW, but i see GSP taking it via ko-TKO, althouh i would love to see Hughes pound on GSP.... and Serra is a joke, whoever fghts him is gonna manhandle him...but even if Georges wins on the 29th and fuks up serra...Hughes vs Serra should still happen so Hughes can shut that big mouth of serras
