| Hughes' Comments During TUF 6 Finale
I found Hughes' comments very interesting. He seemed really happy that GSP was basically losing 8 weeks off of his normal training camp. Yet he also said that he had the choice to fight a lesser fighter but wanted to fight GSP. Hughes is definitely playing the middle ground here to try to further his legacy. While he is fighting the guy who will probably be remembered as his greatest opponent he's still doing it in a situation where he has an advantage. I do give him credit for his candidness though. He might be an asshole but at least he's an honest asshole.

I hate both fighters. I wish they'd fight to a 5 round draw and essentially both lose.
But in this situation, you gotta give GSP just as much credit as you're giving Hughes. Hughes, has been trainning for several weeks now, so he was at least at the point where he would start installing the "gameplan" portion of his training, so its not like he's changing his routine any.
GSP on the other hand wasted no time accepting the fight, and I'm sure he had an option of declining the fight as well. But he now has a month to get into fighting shape, and then install a gameplan. Props to GSP for taking the fight.
Both guys made the right move, but don't, for one second, think that it was all on Hughes part.

GSP doesn't really need to "implement a new gameplan" as Hughes will want to stand with him again more than likely.

Matt knows what got him those "9 championship belts" that Goldy is always reminding us of. This fight we'll see TD attempts, more TD attempts and still more TD attempts. And when/if it hits the ground, ground and pound.
The plans for both fighters couldn't be clearer. It's just going to be a matter of who better imposes his will on the other guy.

"It's a total different scenario," said St. Pierre. "I have no injuries. I'm in great shape. My life is in order and I've been training really hard. The only thing I was not doing is I was not eating as well as I should.
Sounds like hes ready to go to me.
War GSP!
