Ahh but wait for the 29th amigo.
They do this often. They usually put together a strong first half of their year, rest up their better and injured fighters after the summer and hit us with something big on the NYE card.
Conversely, the Spike cards get better and better as year goes on. I'm actually really glad, because the UFC is finally learning how to use up-and-coming talent. When Nate Marquardt fought Anderson Silva on the Stacked card, everyone at the bar I usually watch at was saying "WTF is this guy?" Yet when Spencer Fisher fought Frankie Edgar at 78 everyone was rooting for Fisher after his performance against Sam Stout at FN10 back in June. This fight is going to work wonders for Huerta and Guida.
UFC needs to develop their talent on Spike this way. When it all comes down to it, they need to cater more to the casual fan than they do to us.... Not that Bisping v Evans as a main event catered to anyone, but okay. I mean they were TUF winners so it could have been the right idea. Give true fans 3 or 4 cards, and build the rest for the average joe.
It's a win-win situation. They get more money, we get to see more fighters grow.
