If there are Rio Heroes banners on this site it's not us running them directly. We run Google ads on the forums and they might have targeted our site or something because we're of beneficial traffic-genre' for them to advertise to.
I can confirm we have 0 advertising deals ongoing w/ Rio Heroes. We do post their press releases on the main site though, so we're guilty of that. No money deal or "whoring" going on though, just basic coverage.
We too never bashed them though, so it's not hypocritical like the author of that article suggests. For the record, I've never seen a Rio Heroes show - but just based on the "bareknuckle" concept and "no rules" and hearing how bad their production was for the show they promoted on Stern, it sounds like a shit company.

I don't really care if they advertise here, i'm sure i'll make it through the night without breaking into sweats about RioHeros and puzzle pirates ads lol.
I guess if you come out and say your against it, then use their ads it is a little odd though.

Thats like a vegetarian restaurant selling steak.

These sites are businesses, not feel good best buddy MMA sites.
When people stop thinking that sites are there for the better good of something they'll realize they are business. ALL of them.
Fan sites are a whole different story. Quote: |

this is true, but you could easily block those ads. competitive ad filters, used correctly can block ads from any company. I use them extensively

I have no problem with 'Rio Heroes' advertising wherever they want to since I have no interest in what they are offering. When you now have top notch athletes competing at all weight classes and levels, its surprising there is even a market for it.
I've never seen it, so judging by the comments I would guess it must something like two amateurs swinging wildly for the fences?

i like Rio Heroes. i dont really see anything wrong with Vale Tudo. its just a different type of combat competition. just watch the first couple of UFC's. its kinda the same sh*t. while i dont agree with head butts, i love knees to down opponents!! in the end it all comes down to the same thing, two dudes in a ring/cage beating each other up.

To me it's not the vale tudo aspect. I love my old WVC dvds. It's the ref yelling "kill him" and shit and the lack of safety. There looks to be no medical personell and the ref obviously isn't looking out for the guys safety.
