Fedor i think honestly believes that M1 can set up these cross promotion fights with everyone. Meanwhile M1 is built entirely around Fedor and is composed largely of Fedor's management, Red Devil management, and investors. If Fedor loses, where does that leave them?
I am amazed that Fedor didn't see the conflict of interest that all of these people have but I guess sometimes it is easier to see things from a step back.

And if Sylvia is so not "even legitimate", let's see Fedor fight him.

No one is doing cross promotion fights with their champions so what makes him believe that M1 can make that happen is beyond me. I think they believe if they have Fedor, other fighters will come to them for the chance to fight him, and I just don't see that happening with any of the top UFC fighters.
They can continue to set him up with mediocre matches but eventually he'll see that getting top comp to fight in a cross promotion event isn't going to happen. The UFC would be stupid to do that and give M1 a share of their name recognition for 1 fight with Fedor. M1 is still irrelevant at this point and if Fedor loses to one of these cans, they are completely fucked.

The only way they are going to attract other top fighters is to offer them top money and right now they don't have any. According to the last stock report of Sibling Entertainment they have $ in cash and $11 in savings.

The point I was making is that people are so quick to bash the fighter. He has done nothing wrong except put his confidence into his organization. I think the true issue at work here is that people are just not going to put up with Dana White/UFC's bullying mob tactics. Plain and simple, THE UFC DOES NOT WANT FIGHTERS WHO REPRESENT THEMSELVES AS BUSINESSMEN OR HAVE A STRONG MANAGEMENT TEAM.

Plain and simple, THE UFC DOES NOT WANT FIGHTERS WHO REPRESENT THEMSELVES AS BUSINESSMEN OR HAVE A STRONG MANAGEMENT TEAM. | I don't think this is true at all the UFC has plenty of fighters on that are managed by Monte Cox and he is generally considered to be a very strong, demanding manager. Dana isn't very fond of him, but he still acknowledges Cox as a solid manager. They worked out a deal with Tito who always want's something.
I think the difference is that Fedor's management didn't know where to draw the line with their demands. They asked for too much and zuffa wouldn't give them that much leeway in the bargaining table.

Turning down the Nog fight doesnt mean Randy is ducking Nog, it means Randy is sticking to what he wants. If anything, Fedor is closer to doing the ducking than Couture.

If Fedor comes in and wins the title, they can't have the option to turn down fights, he's the champ and should fight whoever, not hand select opponents.
I think Fedor's manager did what's best for him and not what's best for Fedor. Unfortunately it's not his managers legacy that gets tarnished. The UFC is the top org in the world and has the top comp, Fedor could've signed a 3 fight deal to see how it went but instead chose to go with a startup who has no one signed, and can't find any fights for him except for has beens and never will be's. Fedor should wise up and realize his manager isn't doing what's best for Fedor because that's the big underlying issue here.

lol I think someone is getting conned in this whole M1 thing, I just don't know who. There are too many shady characters involved to pick just one. Quote: |

Randy isn't disrespecting Big Nog, he's just looking out for his legacy. He only has 1-2 fights left, and he came out with a win but a broken arm after his last fight.
You have to be really careful what to do with such a legacy at the very end. If he fights Nog and loses, what does that mean? He gets lost in the heavyweight shuffle and in one of those triangle paradoxes, ala Hughes/GSP/Serra. He beat him but he beat this guy who beat that guy... Right.
If Randy sticks around and some young punk gets a title shot and beats Randy, what does that mean for Randy? Nothing. He's old. Bye.
Also, what if he fights Nog and wins but injures his back? Was it worth it? He beat the guy that Fedor beat THREE times! So what?
Fedor didn't have to sign with the UFC, and while I don't have any love for M1, if this business style caught on and changed MMA, there would be so much more legitimacy to the sport.
On M1's end, its kinda like Pro Wrestling, you have to book a good show. Why would you spend all this money on the worlds greatest fighter, and then immediately have him face a top 5 opponent and get smashed? Thats not money well spent!! Have him crush some cans, get his name out there, and then BANK on a huge superfight with a real opponent.
So Fedor - good game plan, good idea. Call out Dana and make him change the UFC's strong arm of exclusivity. If this is truly to become a legitimate sport, we can't have UFC treating it the way they are.
