| Why not Jardine
Hey is it just me or did Keith Jardine more rightly deserve the shot against Rampage? I understand that Forrest just handled Shogun, but Jardine was great against Liddell and holds a victory over Griffin. Just a thought. I am in no way saying that Forrest doesn't deserve a title shot, I am just saying that Jardine is more deserving.

i can see ur point of view but shogun was ranked higher as a lhw. i know rankings mean shit but its the truth. jardine is def one of the next in line, for jardine it sucks that new talent is coming over at this point. he may have a harder road than he would have now.

thats what i was thinking, because forrest got the win over shogun, which he was a higher ranked fighter.would have been nice to see jardine and forrest rematch for the title shot though

The Houston Alexander hiccup is the problem here, if he wouldn't have lost that fight there is no way you could give it to Forrest first.

Hey,
I like Keith Jardine and I think he will geta title shot in 2008. While he did put on an impressive performance against Chuck, he did lose to a fighter who isn't even in the top ten in Houston Alexander (Dana said winner of Thiago/Houston breaks into the top ten and Houston lost). He didn't just lose but got destroyed.
Forrest has won two matches in a row and the biggie is obviously defeating Shogun who was ranked as the best P4P at 205 in the world. Forrest gets the shot and quite frankly if Forrest wins (which I doubt) you've got a perfect set up for a rematch between Forrest and Jardine. Forrest wants to avenge a loss and Jardine wants the belt.
The set up is perfect and I think it can happen. Jardine will get his shot in due time.

I admit that I also feel Jardine has had bigger wins lately. But Forest is a more exciting fighter.
I know there's always the disagreement between a fighter who wins and a fighter who's exciting. But Jardine's chance to beat Rampage is to move away - using jabs and low kicks to keep the distance. Whereas Jardine's only real chance to win is by decision, Forrest is more likely to score a knockout or submission. That says somethin about title shot worth IMO
But I don't know if it matters so much coz Rampage should beat them both.
