GSP could have had his in the first fight. I believe he needed that loss in order to come full circle. Fact is, Hughes is in as much trouble in this fight as he has ever been in. Whether or not that translates into a GSP victory, we will just have to wait and see.

I'd go with GSP on this because he seems to be ripping apart every wrestler he's faced recently. Trigg had Hughes until he got sloppy & GSP took Trigg back to school in their fight same goes for Sherk.

Against a striker like Penn GSP looked ordinary, but he still beat him, where Penn whooped Hughes in their fight & Hughes fight with Gracie is totally irrelevant IMO.

I picked GSP as well, but this fight could really go either way. I just picked GSP because I would rather see him win. I give him the edge in stand up, but it will be hard for him on the ground. 1 mistake and it will be over quick like last time. This is a rematch I really want to see, can't wait till September for this one.

I'd still take Hughes. You all make great points with the second Trigg / Hughes fight, and Penn killing Hughes when they fought. I think, the Penn fight was the "full circle" moment for Hughes that JT talked about with GSP... (these acronyms are gonna make me go crosseyed, i feel like a 12 year old girl on AIM...LOL!)... I just think Hughes is at his absolute peak right now from all aspects from standup to ground and pound to submissions. I totally respect GSP and think he's great, but I just think Hughes is a machine right now.

On a Hughes related note, the way he picks people up his own weight against their will and slams them on such a frequent basis is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen from a strength standpoint...

I dont see this fight go much different than the first, I take Hughes in the first by Submission over GSP. The guy has such a complete game right now, if fact as much as I love Liddell I would be so bold to say that Hughes would take him out, If I had to lay money I go Hughes.

JMHO

that seems to be the issue with Hughes, it seems hes on the verge of losing that belt... beating Gracie doesnt count for anything now.. but against Trigg he was always submitted, he wasnt but still.. its Frank Trigg..

Hughes got beat by Penn, and quite frankly I think Penn did it in conviencing fashion.. I am convinced that Penn wins a fight against Hughes 9 times out of 10.

GSPs ONLY loss came to Hughes.. Hughes capitalized on the one mistake GSP made all fight, a fight GSP was winning until he was submitted so I say GSP wins the rematch because not only will he NOT make the same mistake twice, but hes a better fighter now I think Hughes has been at a stalemate in improvement since... GSP has the strength advantage, and the standup advantage.. when it comes to submissions of course GSP has the advantage too... Matt Hughes can submit GSP but its gonna be harder for him to do so this time around, but Matt will have to win it by GnP or find some way to control the fight and pull a decision.. honestly I dont see any of this happening.. I do see GSP putting Hughes on his back, and pulling out a win.

First off, Hughes is way stronger than GSP will ever be, Hughes has freakish strength, all wrestlers of that caliber do. Where does GSP get the submission Advantage??? Hughes just schooled Gracie on the ground.

If you dont like the guy just say it
