never going to happen.
why would dana give m1 even teh slightest bit of recognition. if fedor wins m1 can rub it in danas face and claim he has the best mma league and some other bullshit.
it would be the worst business move possible, no way dana agrees.

Well, it's going to be a superfight for sure, no matter where it goes down. If Dana crowns a new champion, Randy losing still allows him to say Fedor didn't beat the UFC champion. I think that there is a chance Dana would make it happen, a slim one, but there is a chance. I'm sure it would have to be at a UFC PPV and M1 wouldn't be able to be mentioned anywhere, and I don't know if M1 would be willing to let that happen. Either way, the fight is going to happen with or without Dana, and frankly, if he is involved, I think everyone makes more money on it, and Dana is a businessman so he has to be considering it.

i think that if by some miraculous chance dana agrees to a cross promotion, fedor and his management WILL NOT agree to fight in the cage. it will have to be in the ring. i dunno, just a feeling...

Fedor's one of my favorite fighters man, but I want to see Randy brutally beat him into oblivion...Stuff him against the cage in the half guard and pound him out like he did gonzaga, or hell, mount him and pount him out like he did chuck..i hope this fight happens

fedor isn't necessarily tied down to m1 is he? they are allowing him to fight in other orgs right?... couldn't they do something like what pride did with wanderlei? where they let him fight over in ufc for a couple of fights? i think that dana would proally let that happen... but i'd imagine it'd proally come back down to the same thing.. and dana wouldn't pay as much as he would've... i'm leaning towards this fight never happening... i'd much rather watch AA vs Fedor anyways.

I agree with one of the posters above. This fight has to happen in the octagon. This fight is going to happen regardless if Dana agrees to host it or not. He's really in a damned if you do damned if you don't situation but its on a level of how damned. If randy fights fedor in October on m1 ppv then that is going to possibly bring some legitimacy to m1. I mean cross promoting is nothing new. Did everyone all of sudden get amnesia? Remember chuck vs silva when silva and chuck were still champs? The ufc has really has nothing to lose and everything to gain by hosting this fight. For all of you people saying it doesn't make business sense are fucking retarded. A. If they make this fight happen randy comes back to the ufc and probably most certaintly will apologize and claim the ufc is the best organization in the world. B. They host the biggest mma superfight of 2008 which they can gloat about. C. Its really a no lose situation if randy wins fedor is dismissed and basically gets labeled a bum if randy loses then hey randy got his wish and can retire with the right company and possibly come back as a commentator. D. If fedor does win I'm sure the ufc can build a good relationship with him and his manager. I can go on. M1 is not a competitor. They have one famous fighter and if he loses m1 is ruined. I really believe m1 is going to go under. Anyone remember pride vs k1? I really beleve in my heart that Dana is gonna try to make this work. I think its a matter of if m1 agrees to Danas terms.

I firmly believe Dana will make this fight happen in the UFC ... and he will make both fighters the highest paid MMA fighters in history to do it. All this talk about it not happening in the UFC is perfect for Dana because it's awesome publicity for free. All this free promotion of "the fight" will also make it the biggest PPV in UFC history. Dana will make it happen... mark my words.
