interesting..

Joe made some good points, but then started repeating himself..

And I think Mayweather should just keep his mouth shut... We all know what happened when he got offered to fight Sherk.

And, there are quite a few MMA fighters who boxed and did fine.

I agree that most MMA fighters couldn't make it in Boxing, because they have more to their stand up than just punches and boxers do nothing but punch, so chances are the boxers would win 9/10. Boxers are not going to get outboxed.. there is just little chance.

But in a strictly stand up fight (i.e. in K-1), a boxer would still get beat by a kickboxer, probably 8/10...

In an MMA fight, MMA fighter takes it 10/10

There is room for both sports...

I don't even see the need to compare the two, but when people try to act like MMA is cockfighting it pisses me off.

They are two different sports but i agree with joe that mma is considered more realistic with more dimensions

Lou dibella talks about the science of boxing, u wanna talk science? u look at the ground game... thats pure science combined with artform. Nothing can replace the submissions, transitions, takedowns and sweeps of mma because its a combination of a variety of sports that include wrestling, judo, JJ, BJJ and Sambo.... there's nothing like it.

It's just like i've always compared the striking to the ground game in mma... the striking has limited movesets. People love it so much bcuz of two men duking it out on their feet with the possibliity of it ending in a highlight reel knockout. I've seen earlier ufc where even though there was a great fight on the ground, people were booing and it was making me sick. I personally don't think the ground game is still as appreciated today, even by the so-called hardcore fans.

Don't get me wrong, i like the striking game but it is limited... unlike the ground game. Watching two skilled ground fighters work their art is the greatest thing about mma.

The UFC crowds are a lot better at appreciating ground work than they used to be. Now people cheer when someone passes guard and stuff like that.

I saw this a while back.

You know Lou DiBella has a cigar in his hand.

Btw, How funny is "We messed up our sport not you."

See alot of people I think go back to the whole "brutality" of the sport, even when taking the ground game into account.

A good example was Forrest/Shogun. Right before He submitted him, you could hear Rogan talking about Forrest hitting the ears of Shogun so he could slip in under the arms and sink in the RNC.

Even with an AMAZING ground game, to a boxing fan, or someone who doesn't do any combat sports it's just two sweaty men rolling on the ground so one can get on top of the other and beat him senseless.

I personally believe that when it comes down to it, that's what it's all about. When you fight in a sport as one demensional as boxing you only notice that one demension in the sport. When the thoughts of being mounted and pummeled it scares you. People hate what they're afraid of.

Joe's a company man tho. Called it ultimate fighting instead of MMA. And I'm a UFC fan. Be a cool clip to save for maybe 10-20 years from now and see if UFC dominating MMA turns out to be better than Don King/Bob Arum scenario.

But he also defended other orgs like the IFL when the guy said that all MMA besides the UFC is garbage.
