| David Heath vs. Tomasz Drwal Official for UFC 81
from mmajunkie.com http://mmajunkie.com/ Quote:
The long-rumored bout between David Heath (7-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and Tomasz Drwal (14-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) is now official and will take place Feb. 2 at UFC 81. The event is set for the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and airs live on pay-per-view.
A member of Heath’s management team today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that bout agreements have been signed.
Heath most recently appeared at UFC 74, where he suffered a second-round submission loss to Renato “Babalu” Sobral. Sobral, though, initially refused to break the anaconda choke, and in a post-fight interview, said it was payback for the two fighters’ heated exchange at the previous days’ weigh-ins.
Heath has flown under the radar during the subsequent fallout and Sobral’s ensuing punishment, which included a $25,000 fine from the California State Athletic Commission and the termination of his UFC contract.
Prior to the loss to Sobral, the 31-year-old Heath dropped a unanimous-decision to Ryoto Machida, which snapped his seven-fight win streak.
He’ll now take on Drwal, who made his octagon debut with a second-round TKO to Thiago Silva at UFC 75.
The loss snapped Drwal’s 13-fight win streak. Fighting out of Poland, the 25-year-old had posted 10 first-round stoppages during the streak.
UFC 81 is currently headlined by a bout between former heavyweight champ Frank Mir and UFC newcomer Brock Lesnar. A potential main event between heavyweights Tim Sylvia and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira — possibly for the vacant heavyweight championship — could be officially announced any day now.

I hope Heath wears a Babalu shirt.
