see another thing with the Serra fight was that GSP really didnt know what to expect, besides a man with superior BJJ.
with Hughes, GSP knows what to expect. GSP knows his stand is and always will be superior. he knows Hughes best shot to beat him is on the ground. will Hughes be able to get it there, and if he does, keep it there? unless GSP makes a huge mistake in this fight, i really dont see him losing.

GSP is just such an awful match up for Hughes. His stand up is far better and his takedown D is unreal. He has really improved his wrestling game and thats what Hughes will rely on if he is to win. I just dont see a scenario that Hughes can beat GSP. Like it was said before, i think the only way Hughes wins if he gets GSP down and Georges paniks and makes a mental mistake and gives up a submission. GSP via 2nd rd TKO

tbh i think either a freak injury or freak submission are the only ways Hughes is going home with the belt... in my mind there is no where that Hughes can beat GSP for 5 rounds in any area... we all know and have said that standup is a no brainer... even in wrestling based on the Kos fight and past fights with Hughes it seems GSP even has the edge in wrestling... i think he is around a brown belt in BJJ but as the first fight showed Hughes does have some BJJ tricks up his sleve so we might have to watch out for that... but the only place Hughes has the advatage over him is probably heart and experience... every where else Matt is DOOMED!!
WAR GSP!

WAR GSP! | good point dude! a freak injury could be bad for GSP. hopefully the short notice doesnt cause him to over train, cuz he seems fairly prone to injuries. but i dont see that happening.
besides Rampage/Henderson, i havent looked so forward to a fight all year...and now we have GSP/Hughes III and finally Chuck/Wandy. UFC 79 FTW!!!

No way Hughes beats GSP ever again. Georges knows he can beat Hughes, and I don't think he's going to get over-confident with that knowledge. On the other hand, I seriously think that GSP is inside Hughes' head...that was a humbling defeat for him last time.
GSP by total domination.

Imo i found it very sneaky that Hughes "chose" GSP to try n catch him not in shape and then openly admitted it on TV. IMO he's scared to fight a 100% GSP and thinks he can beat GSP if he was at 80% but If GSP wins this time theres nothing Hughes has to offer to beat GSP.
Like if Hughes catches GSP off gaurd with only 5 weeks to train and just constantly goes for TD's and STILL loses to GSP what more can Hughes do? His best chance will be some WWE-type shit and running in the cage after GSP is all tired from a fight and spear him for a TD lol. IMO hes gonna be in Rich Franklins spot like he can beat everyone in the division besides the titleholder
WAR GSP!!

I figure that I won't be alone in saying this, but I think Hughes has a definite chance to win, provided he can take smothering GSP to another level. As good as Greg Jackson's camp is (and their wrestling), I think if Hughes commits every second of every round to pushing GSP against the fence, taking GSP down, and holding him down, he can limp away with a decision (and some boos from the crowd).
Btw, I'm rooting for GSP.

Btw, I'm rooting for GSP. | very good point u brought up... have we seen much of GSP's clinch game? cuz if Hughes works that GSP will be in for a long night.. this is one area of wrestling Hughes might or might not have an advantage...
but does anyone have any knowledge of GSP's clinch game from any fights?

I'm picking Hughes here. But, what the hell do I know, I thought CC would be champ by now and that Forrest would get mauled by Shogun.
