He looked solid in his debut, then got sloppy against Kampman and got tapped, then he gets staph infection after winning a fight by rd 1 KO. IMO, unless they give the fight to Kampman, Drew deserves it.

I would really like to see Franlklin fight Marquardt.....I think that fight would be very good!!! I think that would actually be better than the Kampan fight.

if he ever fought Rich, i could see him badly KOing Franklin! it would be a fight Rich would have to get to the ground. McFedries probably has the heaviest hands at 185 in the UFC. Kampmann is lucky he has an awesome chin, cuz anyone less would've been laid to waste in a fight like that.

Plus like I said he got sloppy in the Kampman fight, taking nothing away from Kampman. I just hope Drew fixes a couple of aspects of his game, and turns out to be more than a raw talent who hits hard as hell.

He throws bombs & turns it into a street fight, using purely strength & aggression. Those type of fighters have a hard time making the change to methodical & making/sticking with gameplans.

Pat really cant teach them anything new. what they bring to the table just doesnt cut it these days. the sport has definitely evolved past them.
he should probably try and go down and train with Hughes or something at least. he is good friends with Robbie Lawler too. a new camp would help Drew a lot.

Both of the sites you mentioned along with MMAjunkie all say that Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer has confirmed it but I went to that site, had to go to their UFC 82 archives and the latest article was dated Dec. 7 and only said that the fight was proposed and not accepted. It even said that he might not have enough time for training to accept it. (something about a movie) So I don't know why they're all saying confirmed.
