I got the point of Silva being taken down & beaten... but that was Travis Lutter, who is nowhere near to Okami's level in the top game. Silva was winning the first fight before being DQ'd, but the streak Silva is on reminds me of GSP's dominant run through all the best guys in his class only to be KO'd by Serra. Stranger things have happened than Okami beating Silva for sure. |
I agree with the stranger things comment....Silva is on one heck of a run and looks unbeatable. The problem is that when a guy looks unbeatable, that is usually when he goes down. THe only question is when? I can't see anyone beating Silva for a while!!! His game is mistake free and on target....On top of that, his confidence is through the roof! That mix makes for a bad man Quote:

Every fighter is different. Rampage lost to Wandy twice, but beat Hendo (barely), who is 1-1 against Wandy. MMA Math means nothing. | Don't get me wrong, I understand what you are saying. I'm not totally disagreeing with you. That post may have come across worse than I meant for it to. Like you are saying, Silva has got to fight someone other than Franklin....it doesn't look like Franklin has anything for him.

Stranger things have happened than Okami beating Silva for sure. | Yeah, I'd have him #1 p4p, too. I think his slip-ups are a thing of the past, seems way too focused now. I just feel like since he's come to the UFC, it's been:
- Leben's gonna stand with him
- Rich is bigger and stronger
- Lutter is going to work his ground game
- Marquardt is going to outwrestle him
- Rich will learn from the first fight
So, basically I refuse to go against the guy when he proves time and time again that no one has an answer for him. Now, with Hendo, that may or may not change--can't wait for that. And, yes I agree that Okami can't be too far down the chain and would make a nice matchup for Silva (and, yes, could even pull the upset), but I still somehow see the same result. Good debate though and the picture will be a little clearer after Silva/Hendo.

Okami has probably the highest chance of winning after dan henderson. In the other fight he put silva on his back before getting that illegal kick. WAR OKAMI GnP GnP GnP!

i dont agree i think okami has no chance of beating silva, the cage rage/pride silva isnt the same silva thats fighting in the ufc, Anderson silva is a fucking tiger, u cant keep him on his bakc unless BOTH of his knees are broken, if he knocked out okami from an upckick i think he pretty much demolish okami as long as he can keep it standing, Also, anderson scrambles once u take him down and always comes back up, ask franklin and marquardt, i dont think okami can beat him. Silva is a tiger, he has virtually no flaws, i dont see anybody who has overall better striking than him in mma. i dont think you can make an argument for anybody, his punches are lethal, nobody ever hit franklin so hard he crumbled like that other than when machida overwhelmed him where machida hit him like 5 times to make him crumble. Okami cant beat the new silva
