But - Well, has it been confirmed that he'll get a title shot pending the winner of BJPenn vs. Joe Stevenson? And if it has been confirmed - Am I the only one who doesn't like it? Just on the basis of a road back to a title? In recent memory, Andrei Arlovski's the only one who hasn't had to fight at least once before getting a title shot (after losing it) - And in Sean Sherk's case, Sherk's got a steroid test over his head!
Anyone think he shouldn't be getting too quick a pass to the title, all things considered? | i think i read something like his suspension was cut in half and most likely get first chack at the penn/stevenson winner. i think the suspension would be over by about the time penn would be willing to fight again. not counting stevenson out (cause he is my pick to win) but i would like to see the sherk/penn fight without waiting another year or so.

i dont think he should at the end of the day he failed a drug test and ufc is trying to totally stamp this out, it does not send a very good message if someone who failed a drug test is aloud 2 come straight back and fight for the title

It'd be hard to justify not giving a shot to the champion who both never LOST the title in a fight and also got the CSAC to second guess their suspension. IMO, titles are lost in the ring/cage, not the court room or some back alley CSAC meeting room.

I say give him a shot at the winner of BJ/Daddy,just for the simple fact that id love to see Penn beat on him.

we can't compare this to franklin, hughes or liddell who all lost their respective title... all by ko/tko in the 1st or 2nd rd.
If you're going to compare Sherk to anyone, it has to be to be past champions who have tested positive for steroids like barnett and sylvia. Well Barnett left, so can't compare him but sylvia tested positive, admitted it and came back to fight for the title.
I think Sherk is innocent based on how he's fighting the case and how inept the CSAC is, however, until the decision is overturned, he will be thought of as a steroid user.
Sherk's suspension is done on January 7th, so he can fight after that but nonetheless my point is if sylvia got a shot, then so should Sherk when he comes back.

Add in the questionable practices of the CSAC and you have a pretty good argument for a quick title shot.

He doesnt deserve crap. He failed the drug test, so UFC needs to punish him by making him work from bottom. He wasnt punished at all for taking steroids. Talking about some serious double standards in the UFC.
