| Big John talks possible return to UFC; Fav fighter Randy
Dont remember this being in the MMANews interview, if it was, sorry. SI.com - More Sports - Big John's new plan - Tuesday December 18, 2007 2:19PM Quote:
SI.com: So you are or aren't out of the Octagon for good?
McCarthy: No, it's possible I could do some fights. If it got to a point where it was outside Nevada and there wasn't the [conflict of interest rule] I would consider it. Maybe in another country. But right now, I didn't really have a choice.
SI.com: Now that you're out of reffing, you have a favorite fighter?
McCarthy: My favorite goes beyond an ability to fight. It's his contributions to the sport, the way he treated people. If I were going to pick one it would be Randy Couture.

rut roh someone speaking positively about randy couture!!!! Even after his walk out. See I hate everyone here that takes danas side over randys. Randy is still the class act we've all known to love. You guys swallowed all the Ufc propaganda against randy and that is a crying shame. YOU ARE WHATS WRONG with the sport. Taking a promoters word over the fighters. In my eyes the fighters always come first. The fighters are what MAKE the UFC no the other way around.

I asked him about his negotiation process and he said that Dana doesnt negotiate. He's like a kid when he doesnt get his way, he'll take his ball, UFC, and go home. I laughed out loud when he called Dana a bitch. No one tell Dana tho, i want randy back in UFC.

Its repeat thread day here at MMANews! Just a tip, if you see a blog citing an article originally published within the general "MMA media universe" (this SI.com piece being close enough), theres a good chance a thread was made around the same time the article was originally published. Some of these lazy bloggers post stuff from days, even weeks ago.
Interesting story about Couture, unfortunately for him he doesn't have the resources to manipulate the media quite like DW does.

Before if you checked the 1st page of the forum you'd usually be in the clear but with all these different outlets linking the same articles at different times, I find doing 2-3 quick searches is usually a good idea.
