Who would u get? | It's a toss up between Muay Thai and BJJ. If I was getting into MMA I would NEED both. If it was just for self defense I would probably choose BJJ most people in the world can't fight on the ground and most fights end up on the ground (the gracies all ready proved that). If you took Muay Thai you still have a better chance of something going wrong in a real fight. Someone could be much bigger than you, he just might have some boxing training, he may have freakish power and land a lucky punch, with BJJ you have a better chance of controling the fight from the get go. the opponent puts up his hands to strike, you shoot grab him take his to the ground and choke him out or break his arm, sound a little more lucrative to me.
The other styles are out of the question. BJJ beats wrestling almost everytime because wrestlers are not trained in submition defense. Kickboxers are not trained in the use of elbows and knees so this is a no brainer.

Muai Thai -Ernesto Hoost
BJJ- Sakuraba (he seems to beat every BJJ practitioner I know and has never been subbed)
Boxing-Emanual Steward (for head movement and better defense from strikes)
Wrestling-Randy Courture
PS: if I had a choice I would learn San Shou from Cung Le for striking
