Fitch: 3-0 had a good year, should be ahead of Karo for title shot but Karo will probably whine his way to one first. Funny thing is I bet Fitch would jump at the chance to fight Karo for #1 contender but we all know Karo wouldn't want that.
Filho: 2-0, people can say what they want but he went from almost getting KOed and slammed on his head to slapping a beautiful armbar on Sonnen. Bottom line is he's still udefeated.
Mayhem Miller: 3-0 didn't really fight anyone this year except he avenged an earlier loss in his career. Will avenge the loss to Trigg in the coming months.
Rashad Evans: 2-0-1 kicked Slamon's head off Crocop style then looked scared for 2 rounds against Tito before realizing he could beat him. Gassed against Bisping but still won. Needs to have a strong 08.
Jason MacDonald: 1-2 got beat by Franklin and layed on by Okami. He will be back, 08 is the year of the athelete, lol he needs a new nickname.
Terry Martin: 2-1, flash KO of Rivera, total domination of Salaverry and was beating Leben's ass before gassing and getting KOed. I became a fan of this guy because he has overcome alot to be a fighter, bad childhood, a thug turned his life around and even fights with sports induced asthma brought on from gunshot wounds. His problem will be gassing due to the asthma but he brings it and is dangerous to anyone at MW because he can stop a fight early.
I also got a new favorite fighter this year in Frank Edgar, huge underdog against Tyson and won then finished off by dominating Fisher. I look for big things from him in 08.

I got what I wanted, which was to see Rampage KTFO of Liddell.
I was disappointed in Hamill's loss to Bisping. I really felt the decision was bogus, but oddly enough in the long run it might have been better for Hamill to lose. He really impressed me with the improvement in his stand up and cardio. On TUF, he couldn't get through 3 rounds without nearly dying of exhaustion and puking all over the place. I hope he continues to improve.
Needless to say, I felt sick to my stomach when GSP lost to Serra. Nothing further to say about that.
I gained a favorite fighter in Clay Guida, but he needs to work on his striking defense and get better. He's eating too many punches to the head. I don't care how strong you think your chin is, you've gotta block or evade as many strikes to the head as possible. He's got a LOT of heart, tho, and I want to see him fight Huerta again in a year or so.
I don't like Diego Sanchez, so I wasn't disappointed to see him lose twice. I'm never happy for somebody to take a loss, so I wasn't happy to see him lose. I just plain don't like him. If I were in the UFC, I'd fight him in a heartbeat.
I spent much of the year wondering where the hell Andre Arlovski went, and getting frustrated whenever a card was announced without him on it.

Liddell - Lost both of his fights this year, one against a fighter that he should have beaten, and beaten badly. I still believe in him for Saturday, though.
Hendo - Decent year. KO'ing Wandy is huge for anyone, and losing a razor-thin decision to the likes of present-day Rampage is nothing to be ashamed of.
Guida - Frustrated, 'nuff said.
Cro Cop - What can I say, one of the biggest disappointments in recent memory. I haven't lost faith completely, but he's on thin ice in my book.
BJ Penn - Looks like he's back for good.

It doesnt even feel like Nog fought this year, he beat someone that he had already beat twice. Uneventfull year for him.
Salaverry went 0-1, and lost to someone he never should have lost too. It looked like he kinda gave up on mma.
Mayhem did well this year, Kennedy and Miura are underrated fighters and Mayhem beat them in good fights
Penn only fought once, erasing his only loss that I didn't have an excuse for so I am happy about that.
Aoki beat a can and then beat a top 10 welterweight (at the time), will go 3-0 this year by beating another can. Could have become #1 lightweight if he beat JZ.
Thiago Alves had a great year, look for him to be top 10 soon.
Werdum had an okay year, he lost to AA but considering the fight was 100% on the feet I think he did okay, the fight wasn't as boring as some say anyways.
Babalu, got KTFO and then put on an impressive performance..... only to get fired.
Most of my other favourites were inactive, Hendo had a good year and Carvalho hasn't been doing so well latley so it was a bad year for him.

This was a weird year for my faves.
Chuck- Well, hopefully saturday answers some questions. He looked timid on his way out to fight Rampage. I thought he was there for the Jardine fight, the look in his eyes was there but dude just couldn't put it together.
Mirko just looked lost this year. I thought he looked good in the first round against Kongo, then looked like a completely different fighter in the last two rounds. Rough times. I still got love for Mirko tho. He'll pick it back up
GSP tooled Koscheck which was fun to watch after Serra pounded him out. I just hope he don't run into some dumbass submission against Hughes.
Thiago Silva and Roger Huerta made me fans and I doubt i'll be rooting against either guy from here on out. Huerta especially cuz i've hung out with the guy a few times and he's alright all the way around in my eyes, real nice guy. Thiago is an animal, plain and simple. I'm gonna start modeling my training around his.
Rich Franklin needs to interfere in Anderson Silva's title match against Hendo so he can get the belt back. lay that dude out with a chair cuz i'm tired of watching him deivate his septum

My favorites did Good Rampage and the Spider, Rampage crushed Liddell again, went to war with Hendo and Silva make putty out of Marquette, and sent the school teacher home crying.

Alright let's see..
Fedor - only fought once and beat matt lindland.. and now is facing a tall freak at nye (1-0... hopefully 2-0)
CC - finishing sanchez, then got ko'ed and then looked like he didnt wanna fight anymore with kongo (1-2)
Shogun - beat overeem in a fight that he wasn't actually winning until he got the ko (lots of overeem fights go like that though ) ...and then he gassed against forrest and lost by sub (1-1)
Tito - fought once, and should've won but he decided to grab the fence instead (0-0-1)
Kang - beat choi early on in 2007 and then got ko'ed against akiyama (1-1)
GSP - got tooled by Serra and then looked solid against Kos, but nothing too impressive yet... hopefully wins the title on saturday (1-1... hopefully 2-1)
Marcus Davis - finished spratt, jason tan and paul taylor... 2 of them fight of the night. He's doing awesome (3-0)
edgar - all good fights (especially against griffin)... has really proved to be a contendor.. and hopefully fights for the title in 2008. I'm assuming in the end of the summer of early fall (3-0)

I really didn't go into the year with any favorites, I went into it with just people I liked to watch. I am leaving the year with some favorites though...
Frankie Edgar - Good year won 3 fights in the UFC. He is also a "local" boy, my cousin trains with him, and I am learning JJ from his cornerman.
Clay Guida - We all know his year... A very exciting flightier who had some shitty luck with judges.
Pretty much the whole Lightweight division... I look forward to all of those matches. To me they are the most exciting at the moment.
Rampage - He is a solid fighter, did well and is just hilarious that you cant help but like him.
Chuck Liddell - Even though he lost, i became more of a fan in the losses. He never made any excuse besides 'I got caught' and showed alot of class in his defeats. This made me respect and like him even more.

mir tooled hardonk
frank shamrock lost me as a fan after getting DQed against renzo, but got me back after the baroni fight
rampage was awesome
anderson had the best showing of any champion in all of mma this year with 3 fights and finishing all three quality opponents. he's also the only champ of '06 to still have the belt.
alves came back strong
Cro Cop made me sad
GSP took a bad KO, but i love serra so it balances out. he also tooled koscheck and is about to kill huges, so its all good
vera was lackluster and showed he should probably drop a weight class
