| How did your favorite fighters fair this year?
Well, it wasn't a good year for Twanky's favs, Wandy, Vera, Crocop, and Shogun all lost. I gained a couple of new favs this year, one being Roger Huerta, I'll always root for the guy, and also Anderson, he's been a great champion.
This year can only get better for my crew...I hope anyway or I gotta get some new favorite fighters.

It was great to see Randy beat Tim, especially being there live, and then also him beating Gonzaga was fantastic. Forrest over Shogun was chilling to watch because I was so excited. Rampage had a great year as well, three for three and also unifying the LHW title. And the low point was most definitely GSP losing to Serra in April.

I'm with you Twanky, Wandy and Shogun, then Barnett didn't fight, Li'l Nog, just a crazy year. It seemed like every time I rooted for a fighter, he lost and lost badly.

I invited friends over to see Crocop then he lost both times, that was egg on my fucking face twice! LOL

Hendo did good, KO'd Wandy.. Close fight with Rampage
Rampage did great, KO'd Chuck, Beat Hendo, Hasnt lost a fight since 2005
Penn did good, Beat Jens Pulver and earned a title shot which he will more then likely win
Joe Daddy was pretty good too.. 7-0 at LW

Chuck Liddell 0-2 - flash KO from Rampage and a shocker decision loss to Keith Jardine - not only surprising that he lost that fight but downright shocking that someone didn't go to sleep.
Diego Sanchez 0-2 - both decision losses which is somewhat encouraging; he clearly wasn't himself in the Kos fight, but he was clearly as sharp in grappling mode against Fitch as he's ever been and still found he was too small to compete with the huge welterweights. Fight of year candidate vs. Fitch but that fight probably ends up 10th or 15th.
Matt Hughes 1-0 - A single fight this year but a win; probably the most uneventful fights we've ever seen from Hughes in a grind-out decision vs. Chris Lytle.
Nick Diaz 1-1 - an uneventful win over Aina which should probably have been a loss; and then an outright domination at the hands of KJ Noons.
Fedor 1-0 - a win against a natural MW; only two meaningful victories in two years. The winner of Big Nog-Tim Sylvia gets my #1 HW in the world ranking. Nuff said.
Wandy 0-1 - a single fight in 2007, the superfight loss to Hendo. While I give Hendo all the credit in the world, this was definitely not the Wandy we've all known, and I expect him to bounce back.
Randy Couture 2-0 - We all know what Randy accomplished, so no need to rehash it here. Whether or not he ever fights again, he is simply The Man.
I too gained some new favorites: Roger Huerta, and Anderson Silva (whom I already liked) became my #1 P4P fighter in the world. I cannot wait to watch both of these guys fight again.
Naturally there's plenty of other fighters I like - Faber, Shields, Cung Le, Big Nog, Cro Cop, Arlovski, etc etc etc .... but here are some of my top fighters and how they fared.
Here's hoping all of our favorite fighters have a blockbuster of a year in 2008!
Good thread!

One of the few bright spots for me was Fitch making it to the top of the heap.
Hopefully in the next year I'll get to see Karo & Matt Hughes lose and BJ Penn beat Sean Sherk. This year can only get better for me because 2007 sucked. LOL Quote:

Well I only have three guys that I truly can say are my favs and only 1 of the 3 had a good year.
Rampage: 3-0. Beat Iceman and Hendo and become the UNDISPUTED LHW Champ.
Crocop: 1-2. Debuted in UFC with (not really) a bang. Went downhill from there. Hope 2008 treats him better.
Tito(yes there ARE a few Tito fans) 0-0-1. Its hard to believe Tito only had one fight in 2007 and (IMO) got robbed in that fight. Heres hoping 2008 treats Tito better too.
Those are the 3 guys I consider myself a "fan" of for now, but I just love the sport as whole and love seeing good fights all night long regardless of whose fighting.

At least Condit had a good year. Shields won 4 in a row too.
