I think Hughes-St Pierre is going to be a much closer fight this time. I wouldn’t say that Serra will dominate St.Pierre in a second match. Serra is a good fighter, but I think he got a little lucky with St Pierre. If we were to go by the theory that one fighter can beat another because of their loses…Bla, Bla, Bla. Remember Serra was beating Shoni Carter in their first fight and Shoni caught him with a lucky spinning back fist and won the fight. Shoni is not a 10 ten fighter. Styles make fights.

"Serra wasn´t stripped, he´s still the champion. Hughes and GSP fight for the interim title, witch doesn´t count for shit as far i´m concerned."

You're right it doesn't count for shit until the undisputed match takes place. I think the only reason they made it a match for the title is to make sure a stupid 3 round decision isn't hadned out by the judges when the fighters are capable of fighting for 5 rounds. However, I don't see this fight leaving the 3 round mark - at best.

GSP would seem to have the upper hand in training, the thing with him training alongside the national wrestling team was evident in the Koscheck fight and will be a huge help against Hughes.

The big problem with Hughes leaving Militich is that he doesn't have the variety and quality of training partners that he would there. Even if he plans to GNP the whole fight he should be training to defend stand up and what not.

I don't see Hughes winning this fight.

Rashad has the same wrestling pedigree as Hughes and is much bigger and more athletic. If you have no clue about someones background, you shouldn't stick your neck out like that without doing any research.

**DISCLAIMER** i am not denouncing Hughes' wrestling.. i will say he has great ability, i am merely comparing it to other wrestlers of high quality...

ok im not sure the extent of Hughes college wrestling (so i wont stick my neck out ).. but in IL he was a single A state champion... now for those of you that dont wrestle in IL (which i doubt is very few to none).. single A is kind of a big joke... single A state is a much smaller bracket with smaller schools and they do not get nearly as good of competition that double A does.. but he was a state champ so i will give him a giant props because that is just an amazing acheivment esp. in IL which is in the top 10 in the country and that is being generous...

BUT Koscheck is a 4x Division I All American in college wrestling and i believe 1 time NCAA champ... now for those of you that dont know college wrestling is exponentially harder that HS... my brother caught up with a state runner up that wrestles in college and he said that University of Illinois wrestling is so hard this really good wrestler has broken down and cried at pracitce...

I even wrestled at Illinois State on the club team (the wrestling world hates ISU because they canceld the program for bs reasons i wont get into) but even a mere club wrestling was dramatically more difficult that HS... the level of competition in college is 10x greater and the practices are much harder as well... therefor for Kos to have the credentials he does is just an INCREDIBLE acheivment... anybody that wrestles in college has a tremoundous amount of tallent and dedication to the sport and i admire them deeply

But now again pure wrestling is different from MMA wrestling and Hughes' pattented slams are a great example of his MMA wrestling.. i rewatched the Kos-GSP fight and the double GSP shoots was quite nice.. but what impressed the hell out of me was Kos' finish from the single to the double (my favorite finish from the single looks really bad ass) showed his wrestling talent but he was not able to do much else with his wrestling because it did not transfer over into MMA as well as Hughes (have to give credit to GSP though for being able to control him as well as he did and the caliber a wrestler Kos is)..

Hughes uses his wrestling in MMA brilliantly when he is on top because he knows how to transfer his weight and how to keep his balance... when he is in scrambles he has all of this experience from wreslting is what scares me.. so i do not feel Hughes is the better pure wrestler compared to Kos... but i do feel he is the better MMA wrestler and that is the only reason i am giving him a shot in this fight

Yeah but just because he has the same pedigree does not mean it is as good or has translated well into mma.

Hughes is a strong sum bitch, he has that farm boy retard strength. I would be more scared of Hughes then Rashad coming after me.

i didnt necessarily say that but there is a giant trend... besides montini and dakota... single A teams majority of the time lose to doulbe A... it doenst mean its impossible it just means that double A has a bigger pool to draw from and therefor has a higher chance of better opponents... but there are studs in single A it is just a trend.. didnt mean to get u angry... just we were a top 20 school in double A last year and if not for our captian getting injured we would have beat the best single A team...

and if u wrestled you know anything can happen.. number one seeds to get upset by people they shouldnt but as an overall trend.. not trying to offend it is just my opinion
