Miletich fighter Spencer Fisher spoke with MMANews.com about his upcoming fight at UFC 60 "Hughes vs. Gracie" against Matt Wiman. He discussed the three different opponent changes he's had going into this fight, only two of which were really known, as well as his prediction on Hughes vs. Gracie, a possible spoiler on the 155 lb. picture and possible match already planned for the vacant belt, in addition to how he's training for this fight and his thoughts on his last match with Sam Stout, a decision loss in a fight he took on short notice.

What do people think of the fight he mentioned in the interview about Sherk getting an immediate title shot at 155 against the winner of Kenny Florian and Sam Stout? Personally, I feel that being a top 10, possibly top 5 fighter one weight class up he deserves the match, but I have no idea why UFC keeps trying to force-feed Kenny Florian into the upper echelon of whichever division he is fighting in. Beating Sam Stout and a one-dimensional fighter like Kit Cope should not make you a title contender for a world championship, in my opinion. Sherk will smash Florian if that fight happens I feel.

I don't see anything wrong with Sherk getting an immediate title shot. BJ Penn got one when he jumped up to 170. I think Sherk will dominate the LW division until UFC gets some top LW. Guys like Gurgel, Florian, Hominick(not sure of his status), Yves, Stout, and Fisher are all fine, but I would like to see more elite LW. Maybe they can work something out with K-1 to bring Genki Sudo or Caol Uno for a fight or 2.

Hominick is supposed to fight Gurgel I think in his next UFC fight. Unfortunately Hominick took a fight in TKO or somewhere after Yves and lost, so that didn't help his stock much.

They've got Yves, Stevenson down at 155 now, Gurgel like you mentioned, and Fisher. I guess Stout is pretty good, but if that's who wears their belt then you know they don't have a deep enough LW division because there's a billion guys out there who should be in there.

They do have the working relationship with K-1 like you said, which is awesome because they've got a shitload of top lightweight guys.

I hope they get some of their old faces back though like Josh Thomson, Hermes Franca, Jens Pulver, etc.
