He tried one Kimura and sure he stayed active enough to keep the fight from being stood up, but he clearly was going for the decision and not to finish the fight.

we can agree to disagree but i really really want to see GSP fight BJ again for 5 rounds so all of this can be laid to rest... excuses are made for both sids and it really is bs.. so if i could wish for one thing in life it would be to see these two fight and put this to rest because i TRULY feel GSP won that fight and that is how 2 of the judges saw it.. i know you feel differently palma and i respect that but this issue has been beaten to death and until that fight happens i really cant say anymore about it.. just wait and see how the future unfolds for both fighters |
Tito held on to the fence one time. He pushed the pace and controlled the fight until the last 30 seconds when he did run to avoid the single takedown that tied up the fight.
GSP had top control on Penn and he couldn't do shit but hold him there. I'm not saying GSP didn't win... I'm saying he layed on top of Penn to get the decision. He truely won that fight by not trying to finish it just as you are putting down Tito for doing the same thing.

He didn't try and finish the fight though (which is what we are actually talking about) besides that half ass attempt at a kimura, which is a subtle way to control your opponent without trying to finish the fight. He know couldn't pull off the Kimura, but he sat in S mount holding onto it killing time until the round was finished. Classic Lay and Pray.
