I'm pretty sure Wanderlei is 31, but he's got a lot more miles on him than the normal 31 year old. But after watching his training regimen, i'm not sure how much age is gonna be a factor. Unless he loses that amazing recovery time after the consecutive KO's I don't see why Wand couldn't carry on for several more years at top level.
Rufio, you think Shogun would sit back and wait, yet again, if Wanderlei were to win the belt?

I don't read too much into the training camp videos and pics.
I've been thinking adantage Wand cuz of Chuck's performance against Jardine.
Yesterday's weigh-in i.e. Chuck with less paunch and how easily Wand lost it changes my mind.
I agree with several who've said Wand's best chance was to fight "under control" and yesterday makes me doubt his ability to do this.
But it DEFINITELY upped the anticipation factor.

Like I've said before, you're not going to find a more rabid beast in the LHW division than Wandy, and I think he'd beat all but two, maybe three, of the UFC's top 205ers.
Business and marketing aside (cause we've all seen how well the marketing side has gone in the Year of the Upset), this is just a bad matchup for Wandy; hell, its a bad matchup for Chuck (strikers seem to be his Kryptonite), but its a worse one for Silva.
And the weigh-ins and Wandy's All Access have just made it more intriguing. Silva's training like an animal, and Liddell looks to be in the best shape in years. Its tough, but I still gotta say Liddell by KO, R2.

They're basically marketing him in case what you predict actually does happen. They need to promote him, because beating Chuck would make him a star... err KOing him, Jardine isn't quite a star.

There's always the show before the show that's what makes a fight DRAMA. Wand's switch to UFC is well planned out he is acclimated to the States now and he is going into this fight with his full focus on Chuck unlike cough Shogun(I going to UFC and moving to a new country wait I'm gettin married ummm should we go on a honey wait awww shit I gotta fight Forrest etc etc.) But I have a UFC bias I want Chuck to win but NixHex has a good point.

He did before, and Wand said he would be happy to wait if Shogun had won the title. I'm not sure though.

I've been a loyal Chuck Liddell fan for three or four years now, but I think that he will definately have his hands full tonight. I hope that Chuck comes out with a vengeance and picks his game apart, if that doesn't happen Wandy will probably win. Chuck needs to go back to the guy who beat Randy and Tito. He can't show up like he did to fight Jardine!!!

I couldn't fucking sleep. I'll remain restless until the fight is over. Wands done the best possible preparation leading up into this match. His lifestyle, his new training regiment all help. His training with Randy and adjusting to the cage are all very smart moves on his end. He won't gas or be unprepared. Wandy's been wanting this fight for years and he's taking possible right step to make sure things end his way.
